I was the Allied Liaison Officer for the US Army Nuclear Biological Chemical School. Half of the Arabic Officers I trained in my opinion would want every US citizen dead that was not Muslim. My duty first was to make them our friend. I think we failed in this mostly and they just hated us more. My second duty was to show them what we have and you do not want to be our enemy. I think we succeeded in that more. I really do not want or need friends like that who will just hate or need to be my friend so I do not kill them. My Opinion, yet we keep helping and giving these people money and not helping our own people. SAD!

Well said, that bulkshit goes on all over. We need to help those who want to be our allies and build them up, not those that hate us.

You can never make friends with someone who insists on hating you. You can only make reluctant allies, who will stab you in the back at the first opportunity.

Someone like him is entirely the wrong person to put in liaison work. And I'm not going to retract that over a military record he says he has - why the hell would I?

I have many stories dealing with our so called allies. Did not ine of these misfits shoot up a base in Florida last year. Allied Officer we was training. The happiest I made a Egyptian Colonel was when he asked me where I was born in the USA. I told him I was not born in the USA my mom is German. He asked if my relatives were Nazi and I said I am sure some were. He then wanted to know if they killed Jews and I told him I did not know, ( Something I would not ask anyway) He laughed and thought that was funny. He also asked me to make a African American Female Sergeant walk behind us. I was lucky she was smarter and quicker than I was in that situation. She said LT does not know where we ae going. I do. I said she was correct and it is OK for a lower rank to walk in front of higher rank in USA. I knew it was a female issue but made it a rank issue. ALOT more stories to tell. The good part we had officer from ALL other countries I trained that loved this country and were glad to be our allies.

The fact that you are bringing this up to me as in ANY WAY relevant to anything just confirms that you should not have been in that job. At all. You have a profound lack of understanding of what you were supposed to be doing as a liaison officer.

Antithesis, responding to your comments is like talking to a rock. You use words but you somehow think if you say certain things you have won an argument. I hope you feel good about yourself but really the way you feel the need to put people down might indicate you're not happy with yourself.

I can't help but notice that I'm the one you're admonishing for putting nukeman down, while nukeman gets to put down an entire ethnoreligious group with no pushback from you whatsoever.

Nukeman gave his OPONION and EXPERIENCE working with the people. Whereas you, without knowing him, putting him down. But...that's the internet for ya.

EVEN BY HIS OWN ACCOUNT, even if you were to take his word for it, he's holding a judgement that he encountered less than half the time. IF you trust his judgement in people at all.

Why is having respect for someone and how they present themselves and experiences a problem? If i respect your opinion would I still be a part of the problem? What if i said "the Afghan were shooting at me, they were some bad people?" Or what about when Nukeman said the Egyptian Colonel wanted the African American woman to walk behind them? Oh boy what do you do Antithesis? Is the Egyptian bad and sexist, is Nukeman still part of the problem and can't be trusted?

And I know this story is true because I've read it 3 times before, sometimes longer but same story nonetheless.
Totally agree about not handing people money so they will reconsider their desire to kill us. Although the second method of showing them what we could do isn't a bad option when making friendship is rejected. Making them friends is wishful thinking.
