*another eye roll* I know my history yes systematic racism was there. it is gone now, it is no longer an issue. you are correct, no one is perfect. Anyone with common sense can see that, but thank's for stating the obvious anyway.
the civil war was a tariff war. most of the south was paying 80% of tariffs, because the north had more resources that the south needed than the south had that the north needed. it was a second fight for independence, freeing the slaves were just a by product. but the schools aren't teaching the full truth because they are run by the government and by the liberal side. id the truth were known about that, the much favored black cry would greatly be diminished.
as a side note; one of the results of the civil war for the slaves was that they were now without jobs (yes they'd gotten a salary before), and without homes. talk about unemployment. many of them had developed a fondness for liquor, which can actually have the same effect as it dose for white. but the'd always had a governing hand, and so it made it harder to govern themselves. mental economics 101 if you read Booker T Washingtons "Up From Slavery" or Sarah's Harriet Tubman it talks of many of the problems like that. thats not me being racist. you have to look at it from all sides.
