The *logic* behind your meme, borrowed time, is not even logic.

Ask yourself this question: Why do democrat politicians want to reward poor behavior, and punish good behavior? (because that's all this is at its core...) The answer is incredibly obvious. If you don't understand it, no amount of explaining will help you.

Th rest of this isn't the answer to that question. It's common sense, and it supports the answer to the question.

1. People who worked their asses off while in college, to pay for their own education and not have student loan debt after graduating and getting a job, should not have to pay back student loans for those who did not work their asses off in college.

I know many people who fall into this category, and essentially democrats are telling them they were stupid to work so hard. Besides, I don't want to have to pay for someone else being lazy twice. Once to subsidize an impractical Art History degree, and twice for being unemployable with that degree and having to go on welfare.

2. Parents who sacrificed and saved all their lives to pay for their child's education, so their child would graduate from college without student loan debt, should not have to pay back the student loans for those children whose parents did not do so (for whatever reason.)

3. People who never went to college, but have good jobs and pay a lot to the govt in the form of taxes, should not have to pay the student loan debt for those who did. The money comes from only one source, because nothing is *free* and the govt doesn't actually earn money by anything productive it does. That source is taxpayers.

This is nothing more than one segment of society subsidizing another segment for something that is entirely optional.

Paying off student loan debt is the democrat party trying to divide us, by class, culture, or otherwise.

So much for uniting the country! Thanks Sundowner Joe, and Commie-la Harris!

There are plenty of resources with information about ways to graduate from college debt free. The links below are just two. This is not rocket science.

What do you mean we're happy to see the rich get richer, you're the one who likes the system of Capitalism which indulges us in a free market with gigantic corporations that can rival the government. Who said democrat politicians wanted to do that? Oh and for what you wrote after that, if we never start then the cycle will always repeat, one generation should deal with it.

Education is a national INVESTMENT not an EXPENSE do you know the difference? Why do you think all those uneducated nations are doing so well. smfh.

Agree! Education is infrastructure, right up there with roads. Dollars spent on education come back in all kinds of ways: innovation, less money spent imprisoning people (and less lost productivity from imprisoned people), trade . . . and on and on and on.

Wow, as a person purportedly representing a party of intelligence, tolerance, inclusiveness, equality, and enlightenment, you dumbass liberals sure do prove you're the polar opposite on a routine basis.

Particularly when you trot out this pathetic photo in a failed attempt to paint Trump supporters as ignorant hillbillies.

It's simple minded, ignorant, and it's just weak. A child could do better.

Lets dumb it down a little for you. Who pays more taxes and makes a bigger contribution to the nation as a whole, an FBI agent with a Social Studies degree or a mini mart clerk? Take your time, read it a couple of times if you need to. good luck, its almost as hard as trumps questions where he had to pick out a Giraffe and an Elephant.

The self-declared republic of Somaliland has introduced free education at primary and intermediate levels and doubled teachers' salaries but these decisions will be hard to sustain and could affect the quality of public education, say experts.

Hmm I think paying teachers more and free education will help more people and increase the quality of the school but ok
[deleted]
0 ups, 4y
Teachers are already paid enough. We already have free education. Making college "free" won't help the quality of the teachers just look a private vs public schools. Look how far this country is in debt and you want to increase spending?

Well, first of all, I don't like the idea everyone should go to college I think apprentices should make come back.

Second of all college only really got expensive when the government started handing out loans to anyone even if they couldn't afford them also community college is a good choice for the first 2 years of education.

But a turning point arrived around 1970, Thelin says. With double-digit inflation, an oil embargo and a sputtering economy, a perfect storm began to build. College tuition and fees climbed as much or more than the inflation rate. Private loans, heavily subsidized by the federal government, gradually replaced federal grants as the main source of money for both poor and middle-class college students.

As family income fell, borrowing to pay for college took off, while public investment in higher education dropped. Sandy Baum of the Urban Institute says that drop has been the single biggest reason for the increase in college costs.

"So it's not that colleges are spending more money to educate students," Baum says. "It's that they have to get that money from someplace to replace their lost state funding — and that's from tuition and fees from students and families."

Our Nation's security is using almost one trillion dollars every year to create new and improved weapons which will never ever be used. When are we going to use nukes? Never, why have over 10,000 of them? Because we're retarded. Just 100 nukes is threatening as it is. I get our weaponry expenses but you don't need a whole variety of bombs and guns chief.
