Detente with the Russians was exactly what Presidents since Nixon have pursued with China. The word itself means a relaxing of tensions. The goal was to encourage the Chinese to export consumer goods and not revolution. The Russians, on the other hand, have been trying to play the Chinese against America since the Bush Administration. They tried to get the Chinese to cash in all of their US Bonds during the Obama-Biden response to the Great Recession, which could have put us into a great depression. They tried to get the Chinese to lead all countries to stop trading commodities with US Dollars to undermine our economy before they got Trump to do their bidding. The Chinese could have sold us down the river multiple times, and chose not to. Someone has sold out America and it will become clearer after January 21, 2021.

You may not have played organized sports. My Junior High P.E. teacher and coach was Denny Crum. He was John Wooden's prize student at UCLA who went on to win two NCAA Championships at Louisville. If you even picked up a history book on accident and looked up the 1948 Presidential Election, you would see a picture of Truman holding a copy of the November 3, 1948 issue of the Chicago Daily Tribune with the front page that read "DEWEY WINS."
