That explains the elaborate wiring system that went into his sleeve and up his lapel. They needed a system that had enough power to last the entire debate.
Honestly, I think there should be time to get what the candidates believe out, then rebuttal time. It would make everything easier, and allow people to see the argument, the rebuttal, and decide for themselves.

Aside from Trump being Trump, I believe it was strategic. He was trying to fluster Biden from the very beginning, an attempt to trigger a mental hiccup, but failed. All that prep work Biden did for the campaign paid off in my opinion. Aside from avoiding hard questions, he didn't make any overtly stupid comments or gaffes like so many hoped for and expected. IMO he came across as stressed but not broken by Trump's onslaught.
