I do believe I follow Church, not regularly since I'm not a kid and the content is just not in my wheelhouse, but I sometimes see memes of his on my front page with 300+ comments. Comments on your memes yield a fair number of points, no?
I've clicked on a few of those mega-comment threads: usually they have many many short, rapid-fire replies without much substance. Doesn't seem to be with the intention of garnering points, just seems to be how kids these days like to interact. But not against TOS by any stretch to do this, IMO.
If it's still a concern, maybe change the point system by making meme comments stop generating points after 50 or 100 or 200 comments, or the point value of comments could be related in some way to the length of the comment.
But I don't really think it's a big deal
