No, he won't have to worry about how he looks for re-election. He can literally do whatever he wants.

No, he can literrally march troops into congress and arrest people for treason and sedition and they can't do jack. Completely legal by the way.

If there are legal grounds to charge treason or sedition, he can bring *police* into Congress for that purpose (bringing troops would amount to an improper use of military personnel). There aren’t grounds, though. If there were he already would have done that.

And if he did it anyway, the American people would actually revolt.

Many of the people in congress receive funding and 'gifts' to their campaigns from foreign companies and foreign countries which is illegal. He could arrest half of congress.

You’re kidding, right? He’d better be ready to head right off to jail with them.

Sources for political funding for Trump from foreign countries? No? Didn't think so.

So you’re going to ignore the overly extravagant foreign spending happening at the Trump Hotel thats a block from the White House. Cool.

Not all foreign funding is illegal, just so you know. And members of Congress are watched very carefully, so they’re very careful to abide by the rules. The vast majority of charges would be thrown out.

If he goes after members of Congress he’ll have to go after a LOT of people in his own party. He won’t have any congressional allies left if he does that, and without congressional approval he doesn’t have any funding. Like, at all.

So either he ignores all Republicans and the people revolt because he’s seizing power with an unbalanced scale, or he does away with Congress altogether and the people revolt because he’s staging a coup. Pick your poison, it ends the same.

That's not foregin, its local. They are also going to spend their money somewhere, and Trump is not in control of his companies right now. Please look things up.

It should be illegal. I believe it is, but maybe you can show me some sources where its not?

I think he should go after a lot of people in his own party. Clean the thing out and let future congresspeople know that sedition and treason have penalties.

No, congress would have emergency elections for replacements and would be filled fast.

Ok so half of Congress goes to jail in, what, February? They each get their day in court, and don’t step down until there’s a guilty verdict. Their states start the process of setting up emergency elections but can’t actually hold them until the seat is vacated. Once the guilty verdicts come in (assuming they do, and again, not one will), the states move as fast as they decide to move (because states get to decide this for themselves), and we get a full Congress again. This happens in the following February at the earliest.

By this time Congress has been unable to pass appropriations or a continuing resolution, meaning the executive branch has no money for the entirety of the next fiscal year. Not for Secret Service protection for the President. Not for ICE. Not for Defense. Not for the entire Intelligence Community. Not for Transportation.

And if there are no guilty verdicts (and there won’t be any), then everyone comes back in September at the earliest and makes sure the President gets absolutely nothing he wants ever again. He is effectively a lame duck for four years. Unless, of course, they decide to impeach and remove him, which they would succeed in doing in record time.

The President will never, ever decide to do this to himself, if for no other reason than it would be completely ineffective and do nothing but harm to the American people.

"Defunding the government means the borders are open. It means the President has no protection (or staff of any kind). It means service members don’t get paid. It means there is no funding for anything that starts with “Department of” (Defense, Homeland Security, Justice, Transportation, Education, Treasury, State, Agriculture, Interior...). It’s not that waste will be eliminated - it’s that protection and national organization will be eliminated."

Actually the borders would be protected by the states and local law enforcement as well as land owners along the border.

The president can hire staff on his own he gets paid enough.

Half of those departments should be defunded anyway.

"If you’re ok with this, then you’re ok with anarchy. The States don’t have the funding to pick up the slack. And sure, your taxes will go down, but you’ll spend everything you save and then some on measures to keep yourself (and I would hope the rest of your community) safe. Or you’ll give twice as much as you had before in the form of new State and Local taxes to cover for the failure of the Federal government.

Your naïveté is breathtaking."

Nope. I'm ok with that, but not ok with anarchy. We should be protecting ourselves at a family and community level anyway. I'm fine with paying local government taxes for things, I'm not ok with paying the federal government to voilate the constitution in every way possible.

I'm not sure if you've watched replacement elections but they usually happen very fast like within a month or two.
Also defunding the government for a year would be fine with me as long as my taxes go down to match. I haven't seen hardly anything come from the government that was legal or needed short of a few things Trump did with executive orders and a few laws pass. I'd say a 90% defunding of the government would fix 90% of our problems.

I didn't realize there were people who still believed polls. How much was Trump down in 2016 again? Seen his rallies compared to Biden's?

People are fed up with the Democrats bullshit threats to American citizens with more violence if Trump does what every President does when a supreme court seat becomes vacant, or if we elect him for a second term. Come to find out most people hate being told there will be more violence if they don't get what they want.

HRC led Trump by about 1 point in ‘16. Biden’s leading by 6.

The polls in ‘16 were not as wrong as conservatives think. In fact, they were within the margin of error. FiveThirtyEight (the pollster I get this graph from) predicted Trump had a 33% chance of winning in ‘16. So the fact he did actually win isn’t unusual for an event that you’d expect to happen 1 in 3 times.

Pollsters have also adapted their methodology to fix any issues in undercounting Trump supporters last time: Or they should have.

The pandemic is the big intangible that no one knows how is going to affect turnout on various demographic groups.

But no, I don’t think the ‘16 result supplies a reason to distrust polls forever and always.

Polls are rarely ever correct. Especially when the left touts early victory based on their polling.

And I guess you can keep telling yourself that. The virus has a little to do with turnout, but it doesn't effect online viewership, which Biden has a much lower view rate. But it isn't just Trump's rallies, it's also the impromptu parades and full show of support that indicates a Trump victory.

But I'm guessing you'll ignore the constant threats made by the Democrats to "get violent" if Trump wins or if he appoints a Supreme Court Justice before the election. That's not even a question of them threatening to hurt Americans and their sniveling attitudes when they don't get their way.

latest real polls say Trump is one point down on Biden.
One thing to remember is that most of these polls are landline calls to elderly who sit around watching CNN all day. If Trump is 1 point behind in that demographic, then he's going to win in a landslide, which traditionally dems haven't been able to steal.
