To be honest, I agree with many on the right that too much is made of gender. My response has typically been that "Latin has three genders, Male, Female and Neuter -- which one are you?"
Identity, IMO, is not made up purely of gender or sex. There's more than one way to be male or female, regardless of what gender you choose to claim. Recognizing that doesn't mean I support spending trillions to retrofit the country with gender neutral bathrooms or allowing the biologically male to use the same bathrooms as the biologically female. There's a difference between theory and practice.
