I didn't mean literally. I meant listen as in obey the law. For people that can hear and understand. This does not apply for deaf, hard of hearing, or even mentally disabled people. There would be no excuse for mistreatment of them. Not sure if you were being serious or just facetious...

Here’s a brief description:
A taser is a close ranged weapon that stuns and immobilized the recipient. This weapon is rarely deadly and a great alternative to guns because they do not kill people who didn’t do anything wrong.

Maybe if cops used more of these you wouldn’t need to be making this meme.

Hey you know Jacob Blake was going back into the car to check on his 3 young kids who just witnessed their father get shot 7 times? Have you seen a loved one get shot by a police officer 7 times? I don’t think so. Here’s another cool thing: Sympathy.

Had Jacob Blake simply complied with his lawful arrest, none of this would of happened. Instead, he got into a physical altercation with the police. Each of the 2 officers did tase him in an effort to stop his rampage. The officers were screaming at him to stop and pointed their guns at him as he marched back to his car to get his weapon. The officers can be heard yelling 'put down the knife.' Yes, Jacob did all of this in front of his children. What kind of father is that? Not only that, the person who called 911 was a prior victim of Blake. She called the police to stop Jacob from assaulting her further. I have sympathy that Jacob's life had spiraled so far out of control that the community was calling 911 to stop him and these brave officers were forced to put their lives at risk. It's unfortunate that the progressive escalation of force they used didn't persuade Blake to stop. Ultimately, this is what we call on our police to do. It's the mechanism we use to neutralize a thread that is putting the community and his children in danger and can't be stopped by any lessor means.

One could say he was grabbing a knife, and one could say he was checking on his kids, either way, there are other ways to stop him, like grabbing him before he had a weapon, we can hope that next time something like this happens nobody has to get shot.

Well thank you. You are even more positive and kind than me :). And yes, I do like that. I’m something of a news junkie. I think I have watch every video released and read every comment from everyone there. When people say thing like ‘why not just grab him’. I think they must be unawree that 5 seconds earlier, the 3 were on the ground fighting. Or, if you say ‘he was just checking on his kids’. I think you can’t know the police were screaming’put down the knife!’ I see all of this as a big shame. Not only is he paralyzed, both cops lives are destroyed... and, or nation is burning. Had Jakob simply don’t what we all do... yes sir, no sir.. etc... his interaction with police would have been fine. When you fight with police, you put yourself, the police and now the nation in extreme danger. None of us should be so selfish as to do that.

Even if Blake was reaching for a knife, knives are not lethal to police. More than 95 percent of the time, firearms are what kill cops.

Why is it always the victim's fault? How can you be 100% sure that the cop isn't always the instigator?

What did Breonna Taylor do? Or Atatiana Jefferson before she was shot through a window by police? Or Botham Jean who was eating a bowl of ice cream in his apartment?

Breonna Taylor's boyfriend shot the police 1st. Did you not hear that part of the story? She was killed in the exchange of gunfire after the police were shot and hit. When there is wrong-doing, police should be charged. But, that is extremely rare. Being wrongfully shot potentially applies to people of all races. Why did you name only people of color?

Did you not hear the part of the story where the police failed to announce themselves upon entering the home after midnight? Because her boyfriend shot the police, she deserved to die? Do the officers not deserve charges here?

I don't think she 'deserved to die.' She made a poor choice in dating someone who gets in shoot-outs with the police. As a civil society, we want the people we hire to protect us to win those shoot-outs. We hired those police to enter a dark home in the middle of the night and arrest an extremely dangerous person. Upon doing what we paid them to do, they were shot and hit. Uninvolved in crime and wanting to make it home from work that day, they shot back. Notice how I said all this without mentioning race? No "white fragility" here, what ever that is.

Is that really what we want? I don't think people would still be protesting many months after George Floyd's death if that's what the people expected of police. You cannot blame this on society as a whole. And you also don't deserve to die based on who you date.

The citizens themselves do not 'hire' police, aside from sheriffs. Police officers are recruited by their departments. These systems really operate independently of the needs of the community. Surely nobody wants the blind murder of civilians overseas by our military and equipment, or for people falsely accused of murder to be in turn murdered by our government, but it happens anyway. Capitalism and the state also limit our choices to two, neoliberal corporate sponsored candidates in each election. They serve the interests of those with capital, they operate to protect and maintain those with capital, not the working class. Our system does not serve you and me.
