this isnt upvote begging, hes simply saying he upvotes every meme he sees (even though he doesnt get any) so just stop. and go look at other memes. like damn. your resilient. but just feckin downvote and leave it be. like. it doesnt feckin matter.

What he’s saying is “I upvote everyone’s memes, but nobody upvotes my memes.” It’s using these words to make the reader feel bad and pass him a cheap upvote.

I wish downvoting it and leaving to be would be enough. But it sadly isn’t. As I said before, I call out upvote beggars (particularly on the front page) to discourage it from happening again. And leaving a downvote does nothing to discourage it since the maker can’t see it.

1. the fact that it’s a joke doesn’t automatically make it a non-begging meme.
2. the meme mentions that he upvotes people’s memes, but nobody upvotes his. Thus he is promoting people to feel bad and pass him an upvote (it’s like someone else already said this to you).
3. Even the meme maker can’t give a better argument other than “it’s a joke.” If anyone could defend this meme, it would be the maker.
4. There is such a thing as accidentally upvote begging. You can beg without realizing it. Even I’ve done it if I’m honest with myself.

I’m tired of you making the same dull argument hundreds of times, and thus forcing me (and the other dude) to say the same things hundreds of times.

first of all, it doesn't even say things about "give upvotes", "upvotes needed", "i need ____ points to get a new icon" or "i need these *upvote picture*".

next, i didn't even intend to beg and get everyone's pity. i didn't expect to get into the front page or get 301 upvotes. i just wanted to make a meme that would probably get people to laugh. i was at 5k points and was ok with that.

additionally, it was a simple example, like most of the memes in this website. many people make their memes with ideas they got throughout the day(s) and decided to post. other people make their memes with life experiences. i myself do these kind of memes once in a while, but this one was an idea i got a week ago and decided to post.

finally, i put minimal effort in this meme, while upvote beggers try to do everything to make their so-called "meme" cute and make the minds of people force them to upvote out of pure pity. the reason why most upvote beg memes use cute characters, sad people or drawings saying "do something..."

But there are things I gotta point out here.

1. Upvote begging is much more than a meme that asks for upvotes. In fact, many beggars have gotten smart and have found more subtle ways to cheaply get upvotes. This includes mentioning lack of upvotes, complaining about how slow your point progression has been, wanting to see how many people are on Imgflip, and comparing a lack of upvotes to torture (or comparing upvotes to the opposite).

2. I feel you man. I too made memes without the thought of begging crossing my mind. But I soon began to realize what I was doing (with help from others). Good intentions are never enough when making a meme. What you see in your meme doesn’t mean the meme isn’t begging. Your intentions with the meme don’t make it anything else other than the meme.

3. Your ideas go into your memes? Wow! Mine do too! But I contemplate whether or not it’s begging. When in doubt, NEVER MENTION UPVOTES IN YOUR MEMES. I’m going to emphasize this because it’s very important.

Not all memes that mention upvotes are begging, but all begging memes mention upvotes. Thus, the chances of being a beggar (even if you don’t realize it) are incredibly high.

I’ll give you credit for actually putting a punchline in the meme. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t begging.

4. Actually, upvote begging is the 2nd cheapest way of making a meme. It’s only succeeded by repost memes. Why? Because if there is any punchline at all, it’s all used to manipulate people. Again. Good intentions are not enough. The meme is manipulating people to drop you an upvote. It’s really cheap when you think about it.

Again. You’re by far the most chill guy who’s been replying to these comments (at least compared to everyone else replying to this stuff).
