Living in Trumpmerica has made it easier than ever to be a Democrat. What puzzles me is all the folks who still aren’t.

I was a Republican and a Lutheran. Now my politics are more liberal amounting to taking the Democrat badge even though it's more complex than that. I'm also atheist. Anyway it keeps me vigilant because I know all the traps I fell into bearing those previous beliefs and learning how to break from them. Also more free to change my mind since nothing is so entrenched facts cannot sway me.

I think the "leftists" hijacked the BLM message and made it into a vehicle for marxist ideologies. I think the left wing "ANTIFA" folks (not even a real organized group, but still) causing mayhem and destruction (rioters) don't help matters nor looters that follow suit.

And somehow these people became representative of the Democrat party. Not true but perceived by the gullible right wing MAGA crowd being told that by their suit-wearing handlers and Q ANON keyboard warriors making memes about commies.

Whereas I would say Biden and Harris are very much closer to the "typical" Democrat than someone labeled "ANTIFA," I would also say Biden/Harris would have been a great mid 80's GOP ticket. Because that's where their policies seem to stand. I will take it for now. Literally ANYTHING is better than Trump and Pence. I'd take Romney/Kasich right now in a heartbeat if I was offered that over Trump/Pence.

Good points. Righties are only only held together at this point by hate and fear and reactionary politics. No positive agenda to do anything really.

I don’t respond to that myself so that’s why I’m continually puzzled, but it’s a strong enough motivator for many.

I am a Republican in the only TRUE sense of the word (at least as far as language terminology is concerned).... That means that I am against monarchies. That there is a party in the U.S. who named itself "Republican Party" is not my concern. 😁

I've never liked the Republican party and yet I do try to reason with Republican voters. Mostly that forces me to revert to trolling as a reply to them trolling me. I once had a hard, yet RESPECTFUL discussion with OlympianProduct, who never hid he's a Republican voter. We didn't reach an agreement, except for one thing. As we kept respecting each others opinion no matter how different they were, we agreed that is how all political discussions should be. It was refreshing for me, to have a discussion with somebody I totally disagree with, and yet we could discuss things in respect without scooping to trolling and insulting. So I guess it *is* possible.... There's hope!
Of course one person is not representative for the entire group, but if there's one, there's likely two or three, or more as well....
