The attempt to tax you when you live elsewhere is not just unconstitutional, it's waaaaay unconstitutional. Look for blue states to try to get around that by signing something akin to extradition treaties, but for taxes... which should also be found unconstitutional.

For now the threshold for taxing what you have (and which may very well have already been taxed... heavily) is set at $15 million. Everyone is for that, right? In fact, we're all for taxing "the rich" or "the wealthy", right? Make them pay their fair share (well, *more* than their fair share!) Yeah, the thieving politicans figure nobody except the 30K or so disgustingly rich people in Taxifornia that would be affected would vote against that... Which is exactly how it starts. Then, a few years from now, shockingly, we find out that that the lying dog faced pony politicians consider us ALL to be wealthy or rich.

With every budget shortfall here in Taxifornia, that threshold will be lowered. Eventually, it'll be down to $100K or maybe ess. $100K in Taxifornia is like $20K in Nebraska in terms of cost of living. The big difference is, the $100K looks good to the money thieving politicians, but from a practical standpoint, its hard to live in a city of any size in Taxifornia on only that much.

California is full of guys like this. Remember lots of Latinos are communists and don't care about free press or free speech or any other constitutional guarantees. Think of Mexico as their ideal. The masses are pushed around and exploited by the drug gangs with their illegal weapons, that are denied the common citizens, so the elites can live in splendor in private areas.

It's actually already done, at least one form of it. California is one of the few states (probably the only one) that taxes expats living abroad. As long as you have a California driver's license or plan on returning (even for a visit) in 5 years, you have to keep paying CA tax. It is listed under the domicile tax law.

Sounds like you need to move to Nevada before becoming an expat.

Biden's pick for VP doesn't seem to mind the idea of infringing on constitutional rights, and that's her state so don't be so certain...don't get me wrong, I'm on your side but it's true. Back in the primaries Biden even called her out on it in the debates saying what she proposed on 2nd amendment restrictions wasn't constitutional, and she dismissed it with hearty laughter...and now they're running together, in a progressively more and more bizarre partnership.
