Somebody once said: We don't give baby's a drilling machine because they don't know how to handle it making that machine therefore dangerous. Still they do give guns to people who don't know how to handle them (shooting at a shooting track does not come even close to a real gun fight) therefore making them dangerous.

True, but even in the U.S. where guns can be obtained legally there is still an illegal weapon trade going on. Then again, anything could be traded illegally, even a basket of apples, although I can't think of a reason why anybody would, and it would be a lot harder to get that done illegally, but still...

If you take into account though that, in countries were guns are outlawed, most people who get killed by a gun, were mostly already in the illegal circuit themselves and were a threat to other criminals, and in the criminal world the law of the jungle applies (eat or get eaten). People not involved in the criminal world have overall little to fear... Shoot-outs are rare, and the innocent people who did get shot dead were in the recent events mostly mistakes (but if they had a gun, they'd be dead either way, since the killers were assassins trained to be invisible till the very last moment, and nothing can save you from those kind of killers). These mistakes are risky for criminals, and a load of them got them in more trouble than they already were, so I guess criminals will be more careful... if it's not out of ethics, then it's out of their own security.

But then again... 100% security can never exist. Illegal stuff, whether guns, drugs or something else, will eventually always find its way into your hands if you know where to look. And crime-fighters know it.

(Yes, I know there are ways to kill without a gun... I was only joking around).

You see, guns without bullets are not commonly used to kill people. Bullets are. However, bullets are rarely used to kill people without putting them in a gun and shooting them at those people. Therefore, people with guns do not kill people. People with guns and bullets kill people.

Yeah, if bullets were banned, there would be a black market for bullets. Finding guns would be easy as pie. Finding bullets would become a challenge and they would eventually be worth hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars a piece. There is a movie that I cannot think of right now, but it followed that concept. Bullets were rarities and were extremely expensive. Oooooh, it was the show, "The Man in the High Castle". Pretty good series, until it became really gay and full of "diversity" gigs....these "gigs" took away from the show because they were blatantly added to increase diversity. Diversity is fine, so long as it does not dilute the overall quality of the things that it impacts.

Humans have been killing each other since, well, there were humans. Guns (i.e., man-portable firearms firing projectiles) have been only been around ~600 years.

I've debated the gun control issue at length before and I'm not looking to write a novel again.
