The reason I think it would be worse under Hillary is based on her incompetence as Secretary of State. She didn’t know what to do when things got ugly and just tried to cover up her incompetence. She also would have been too worried about hurt feelings rather than take steps such as stopping flights from China before it was declared a pandemic.

Trump has repeatedly stated that it will just disappear like magic. It's his go to line used more than any other.

America wanted an election between Trump and Bernie and they would have been much happier to allow the chips to fall where they may had that been the choice.

I don't know how we're to get out of the mess we're in but some things do need to change. We shouldn't be making money off college debt. That's just wrong. We should be investing in our young. But, college costs are way too damn high and that needs to change too.

Healthcare is completely insane. Outlaw employer healthcare and people would be protesting the cost in the streets the next day. We're paying twice what the next most expensive country pays per capita and we're ranked 13th in quality. It's BS.

You can't pay for anything by taxing people with no money. You can't get blood from a stone. 21% corporate tax rate isn't enough. Capital gains taxes on hedgefunds isn't high enough either. I hate taxes as much as anyone. Get rid of all of it and base it solely on income. The more you make the more you pay, on a progressive scale like America has always had. Get rid of property tax all together. Find a different way to support schools so that I can actually own my home free and clear from the government.

That last part, will NEVER happen.

I agree with you on taxes. It should be a flat rate based on income. But the government will never relinquish their ability to influence people and businesses’ behavior through tax incentives.

The problem with free college is there’s no skin in the game for the students. Too many will go until they get board or stop having fun so they’ll just drop out and take whatever jobs they can get.

Healthcare is a mess but of all the proposals for making it affordable, few if any of them would actually lower the cost of healthcare. It’s mostly just shifting the burden around while lowering the quality of care.

We need to move from discussion of "lowering" the cost of healthcare to cutting the cost of healthcare by 50%.

There is no reason healthcare should cost what it does.
Dems trying to "help" people by giving them funds to pay for it, only makes the cost go higher. The whole system needs to come down.

I don't think taxes should be a flat rate due solely to how compounding interest works. Not that it would ever happen but, you could tax a billionaire at 90% and they would still continue to grow their fortune every year. Compounding interest is such an income producer that those people can't spend what they make fast enough to put a dent in it.

If the divide between the poor and middle class was an inch, the divide between the middle and the wealthy would be 1000 miles.

No, they’re like talk radio. The news reports are on the half hour or so, between the shows. I don’t actually get the Fox News cable channel so I’m just going off what I hear on Fox News Radio. The only cable news channel included in the package I subscribe to is MSNBC. Now theres a station that’s nothing but opinion talk 24/7.
