No matter how you put it, they are breaking the law, and thus they can be regarded as criminals, even though their intentions are noble, or at least based on noble thoughts. Sometimes their hacks do work out for the good, and sometimes for the bad, which is only natural for people trying to take matters into their own hands.
I've neither admiration nor feelings of revolt for them. Sometimes we need people like them to make "true justice" (which is also a bit of a subjective term) prevail, but the danger is there that if they come to the wrong conclusions their hacks can have terrible consequences, and the power hackers have when left unchecked is not to be underestimated. We can say that Anonymous should be careful.
Of course, their motto is "never forget". I hope that also applies to their own mistakes in judgment.
