The Middle has it the best actually. They have just enough responsibility so that they can do whatever they want, but not enough to have to do a ton of work. The youngest has none. The oldest has way too much.

The middle child ends up in the middle of everything no pun intended. The youngest always get the most attention and is smothered with love and anything they want, the oldest is always going through something and therefore gets the second most attention and then the middle child is also having problems but parent are too focused on the oldest and youngest the middle child just gets left behind. Also for any eldest children reading at least you don’t have to get hand-me-downs when they’re worn and torn

I was the oldest, but the only girl for a long time. My mother bought used clothes from her co-worker's daughters, so I did get hand-me-downs--rarely got any new clothes.

As the oldest child who was just sent to help my aunt for three days while my younger brothers stayed home I have every idea what that feels like. Sometimes my parents will make both my brother's lunch and refuse to make mine. They say those are important skills I should learn how to use. It's funny how they think I don't know how to make a sandwich (even though I have babysat my brothers during lunch and fed everyone just fine). I try to explain that I know how and it seems like common courtesy to make me a sandwich while they make my brother's. Then I just get yelled at. 😐

Lol I get that a lot, it’s fun, you’re never bored during all this quarantine. How I see it is middle children get “ignored” more often, while the youngest is thrown lots of attention, and the oldest is the milestone breaker & example for all the younger.
