For 30-years, I worked for people who sacrificed their health and limbs for their fellow Americans. They did not choose which Americans should benefit from their efforts, based on any demographics. And, one of my assistants was a very conservative woman named Pam, who happened to be the widow of the most decorated soldier in WWII. She and I shared goals and motives for our work and never discussed politics. She is no longer with us. But, I witnessed her showing displeasure with people who showed disrespect for people based on politics. She believed in God and America, in that order. You, sir, are not fit to hold her coat. I will not waste my time explaining to you the greatness of America. You just don't get it.
I have concluded that the level of your rage and anger, is directly related to the growing likelihood that President Pandemic will lose the upcoming election. There are four major Republican organizations spending tens of millions of dollars each to make sure he loses. This is uprecedented. The irony is, if he had just let the public health experts make all the COVID 19 decisions he would have a good chance of winning this election. Unless an Earthshaking event in his favor occurs, he has no path to winning this on the up and up. President Pandemic is a loser.

I want you to know that I spent my early life running businesses. Some I started and sold for a profit. Others, I assisted someone else with, for a fee. And I was in the Army. Yes, I worked for the government. While working for the government I worked in television production and other enterprises on the side. I worked for a large charity, after leaving government. I was a loaned executive for United Way and a volunteer for four chambers of commerce, including a Hisanic chamber of commerce. Then, I worked in retail and for a union. From now on, when you denigrate me for my working years, mention all of these please.

You can post your denial-spin and make snide remarks. The facts remain. If Presdient Pandemic had acted in February, we could have avoided much of the spread of the disease, and the related economic losses. We would have really "flattened the curve." We could have a much more opened economy than we have now. Instead, Texas reports record hospitalizations, as evidenced in the news report above, from a few hours ago. We are in the mess we are in because, he had no plan and did not let those who knew what to do to act for us.
Public health is not, and should never be, a political issue of "left and right." But, I can see how desperate you are to make a cogent argumtent for the denial and inaction that the public health professionals in his own administration were arguing against back in February. One very high level M.D. in CDC laid out a workable plan for stemming Covid 19 early on. She happens to be the sister of an important political appointee of President Pandemic. Rather than believe her and act, he tried to have her fired for doing her job by coming up with the plan. At the time, he was trying to keep the stock market from reacting to the looming pandemic. His early behavior and statements are a matter of public record. They do not change because of the politics of the person reading them.
Remember when President Pandemic said we could reopen the country by Easter and everything would be fine? Because of that denial, we can't publicly celebrate the most important holiday in the history of the world, because he did not act to control things then and encouraged others to follow his non-action lead. If he, and you his followers, keep denying the relentlessness of this virus, we will be closed down for Labor Day. And, a Worldwide Depression will be a possibility.
Onn February 25th, when we had a chance to stem the tide of the virus, CDC recommended that we prepare for a severe disruption of our workplaces and schools. President Pandemic's rejection of their recommendations and the political sideshow he created, led us to where we are today. You can spread your disinformation and denial, but clear records exist of what happened. America is paying the price for his failure.
As far as the "ultimate politicization of health care" goes, Republican voters at the grrassroots level support "Obamacare." They have voted to expand it in five deeply "Red," states, as their leaders attempt to end it. Your own base likes it better than you do. I thought you guys believed in the voice of the people.
