About half of the deaths are nursing home residents. Take them out of the equation and the infection fatality rate is not much more than a severe case of flu.

Research the 1968 Hong Kong flu. Nothing was shut down, and I mean nothing. Society survived.

280,000 people a year in the US die from medical errors.

When conservatives slowly wake up to the fact that wearing masks is a low-cost alternative to lockdowns and business closures. | image tagged in face mask, pandemic, economy, economics, conservative logic,covid-19 | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

The truth is this – social distancing, quarantining & closing down businesses keep things at square one where nobody (figuratively speaking) has been infected. There will always be a spike from day one. The problem is the economy cannot sustain this shut down much longer.

The solution is to isolate, protect, and quarantine the people at risk of dying. 97% of deaths are people +70 years of age with a chronic medical condition. 70% are flat out over 70 years old. Also people with chronic medical conditions are high risk. Everybody else needs to go out and develop herd immunity. It would be over with in months.

The experts said “15 days to flatten the curve quote. Well it’s been more than 15 days; the times up.

Change the strategy and protect the vulnerable.

CDC list the average death rate at 82. Yes, 82! Take the number of US covid deaths and divide by the population of the US. It's 0.0003. The same as being hit by lightening.

Is that the average death age? I saw some thing where the average age of a coronavirus death in Canada is 83, whereas the average life expectancy in Canada is 82.

I think you’re off by a power of 10. The IFR of covid-19 is more like 0.003%. - 3/10 of one percent.

Subtract the nursing home deaths, which is about 50% of all deaths, caused by 7 governor’s mandates, and the rate is even less than .5%
