That said, they did drop almost 2-1 so you could make the argument that they were the better army, especially since they did not have near the ammo, supplies or numbers. ok poor wording on my part. they're more in line with extreme conservatism which doesn't represent all of the republican party, only a small portion of them. But because of that they do tend to work with certain republican groups as they will share similar goals. Hence they tend to get lumped in with republicans for this reason.
However like the KKK they follow the politics not the party itself so if the parties switch again and democrats once again become the conservative party like they were in before the 60's then they'd ally with the democrats instead.
(note: I was arguing with burntfingerforge earlier because he kept saying the KKK were democrats because they crated the group and refuses to acknowledge the parties political shift of the 40's and 50's. and when I challenged him to name one democrat kkk member in the last 50 years he flat out admitted he refuses to even look because he knows it would disprove him. So basically I got the KKK and the Neo-nazis's mixed up when I wrote that post :P )
