We actually have both. Media is obviouisly a problem, as journalism, meaning real, honest, journalism of integrity, is pretty much gone in this country. But, racism is also a problem, just not as serious as the media makes it out to be.

When the two problems intersect, as is the case with the media painting all cops as being part of systemic racism, the problems associated with racism become exponentially worse.

The media is pretty much only interested in ratings. So hating Trump has driven their ratings (i.e. revenue) since he announced his candidacy. And every time they can make any current event, newsworthy or not, into a crisis, it drives their ratings. For example, without the Chinese Bat Fever, their ratings would be way worse.

We're definitely on the same page. The media loves to fuel the fire. What pisses me off is their motive. While I have no problem with being motivated by money, I hate people who do wrong in their attempt to get some. When so called journalists lie to us for money, I consider that to be wrong.

Regarding racism specifically, I won't bother to dig up all the stats that show how the playing field is more level for everyone now (which of course includes those who are not white) than it has been at any time in our nation's history. Still, imo there's always room for improvement.

A key aspect of the problem, as I see it, is that DIMocrats are telling those who aren't white and who feel oppressed (in part because of the media) that regardless of what they do, they (the DIMocrats) will guarantee a different outcome for them. That doesn't exactly motivate the individual to achieve excellence. They have the utter balls to tell them this, even though all the nation is required to do, as mandated by our own Constitution, is create an equality of opportunity, not of outcome.

The DIMocrats need a permanently dependent class of people. To be fair to them, they don't really care what race they are, as long as they're dependent. Dependency = votes. Their next targeted group is obviously illegal aliens. They'll first try to get as many in the country as possible, then make them a voting block, all the while attempting to make them dependent. It's their tried and true tactic; just ask LBJ.

So I do think race is a problem, evidently more so than you do, but that's okay. Only snowflakes attempt to enforce 100% agreement with their views onto others.

I'm starting to suspect that race is only half the story. I'm beginning to wonder if the socio-economic subculture of the sketchily employed might not be a major factor. It seems as if there is a subculture that values aggressive behavior towards authority and tolerates misdemeanors in service of their survival regardless of available alternatives. What would have happened if Floyd had gotten into the SUV when directed by police? Rayshard Brooks would be alive had he not resisted arrest. How many others would be as well? So what if race is only half the equation?

That said, neither Floyd, Brooks, Eric Garner, or Michael Brown committed offenses that justify there deaths.

And the media is complicit in anything that has the potential to be sensationalized. Congress can make no law abridging the freedom of press - but it doesn't that the individual states can impose fines for inaccuracy or blatant bias. Might be interesting to see someone try it.

I'll field this one, so you can get an objective reply, which eyes shut is most likely incapable of providing.

Malcolm Harsch and Robert Fuller were both recently found hanging from trees in southern California, within about ten days of each other.

Malcolm Harsch, was apparently homeless, and hung himself at a homeless encampment in Victorville, CA. Police have ruled there was no foul play in his death, but say they are continuing to investigate. Robert Fuller's death was initially ruled a suicide, but I think that's being reviewed. His family claims he was not suicidal.

You have to admit that considering the current racial tension, finding black men hanging from trees is worthy of very thorough investigations.

Pure speculation here, but if Robert Fuller did commit suicide, that's a seemingly unusual way to do it. And of course, there is the sickening possibility that he was lynched.

Below is a section from a story about all of this, found herel:
https://time.com/5855081/robert-fuller-malcolm-harsch-hanging-california-fbi/

"Many advocates have expressed concern about a potential pattern in these and other recent deaths. Another Black man was found hanged in a park on June 9 in New York City; his death was ruled a suicide by the city’s medical examiner. A Latino man and a Black teenager were also found hanged in public locations just a day apart in Houston; their causes of death are pending, but police say their families have both said they were suicidal."

I hope my reply to the Barron was objective, but I agree with you Syd, proof should be required before anyone calls these events racist or criminal. But you have to admit, taken as a whole, they're just darned peculiar given the current racial tensions in our country, which have been fueled to a significant extent by our corrupt media..

Naw, the media and twitter twats are reaching for something to justify their burning, looting and murdering.

Hard to believe anyone being lynched in a city without a witness. They're also trying to push the anti lynching bill, like Jussie tried to do for his buddies Kamala and Spartacus.

One man hangs himself, and it's a racist problem??? So, my friend hung himself a few years ago... Did a black man sneak in his house and hang him in the closet? People hang themselves when depressed. It happens, even in f-ing California. BTW, my friend's brother said that he had been happy go lucky and all was well. Just a bunch of idiots trying to start something. Doubt anyone is running around lynching black people, because of one guy in California wanted to make a statement as to his sadness in public. Get proof, get real, and quit buying BS.

A man hanging himself is not a racist problem. I hope you didn't think I said that. I'd like to think I'm capable of identifying what's real, and not prone to buying BS. I was honestly trying to be somewhat of a journalist with that reply, and mostly report facts. I'm probably not good at that, so I'm sure some of my desire to present both sides to any story worked its way into what I wrote. I agree that how these particular deaths are viewed should be fact driven. So unless facts are discovered proving otherwise, the official reports need to be taken at face value.

I'm sure they were investigated. It's far more likely with the 'current racial tension' common (50,000 a year) suicide would be portrayed as a racial hate crime.
