i don't believe that's how they see it. i think they don't wear masks because they don't have a firm idea of what viruses are or the mechanisms of viral transmission from person to person. this makes viruses somewhat unreal to them. and if they're unreal, then why consider mechanisms for communication thru two (or more) steps in an infection chain? it's easier for them to say 'Biden supporter', and so i think it's a result of dumbed down and eliminated science content in the schools.

The most important impact of failing to distance in crowded places is NOT the danger to the people in attendance (although they are at risk and some few will almost certainly die as a result of attending a rally). The most important impact is the spreading of the virus to many other people, who will take it home and spread it further.
