CNN. Your point?

While Fox stupidly tried to impugn the new country with a photoshop, CNN tried to impugn AN ENTIRE RACE to push their agenda and cover for a black rioter.

I just did some research and I found out that the CNN doctoring claim was patently untrue. Can't say I'm surprised that someone would fake shit to make CNN look bad. I still think CNN is a terrible outlet, but playing a stupid game on which outlet is worse than the other is completely unproductive and ridiculous. Both are equally bad.

Oh that's interesting about the faking. Not suprised either for same reasons i will check out the link.
I will point out to you what may well be preaching to the choir, but at this time more than ever we need to be vigilant about fake news. I am often saying to people to be critical but i didn't for a second think that this wasn't something that Cnn had published even though I never saw anything but a still. People connected with organisations as well as others are manipulating events to create situations which get filmed and their angle gets published or presented to the media. Then we learn of others who filmed the same thing and we see they set the whole thing up or the players in the event provoked outcomes for maximum effect. So events are occuring but all to often the main body of information is based on a script and not some spontaneous happening.
Also, you may be aware but they passed laws which says it's ok to lie with propaganda through the media. So if that shouldn't be interpreted as everything you see could be fake news the I'm not sure what other conclusion is better suited.

I totally agree that mainstream news should not be trusted, but individual people also have biases themselves. That alone is not enough to invalidate someone's point (everyone is biased), but remember that just like how the MSM pushes an agenda, so do individual people. Usually when there is an outlandish claim that needs to be heavily substantiated, I usually look in to it to see if it's actually true.

Yes always evaluate is the right thing to do. The biases are annoying but by verifying all claims even the ones we would like to be true (like this one suited my belief) we will get an answer on validity. And of course theres the old "the bigger the lie..." thing.

Agreed.

Yet when you thought it was true, you still couldn't see a difference.

Mmm, show me the CNN article then. Or the news agency that reportedly caught them doctoring this.

Okay, I will try to find the original article for you. Although I would not be too surprised if CNN has deleted it by now lol 😂

If it has been deleted then you should be able to at least find the source of this claim that CNN doctored it. Still, something tells me you're unlikely to share that source or care whether or not that this is a blatant lie. Hopefully you prove me wrong.

I think is fake news.

Snopes declares that the photo was from apnews article, but there is not that photo in that article. The photo is real, modified or not, but seems not related to CNN.

I usually like snopes, but their debunking of this is not as well researched and backed up as most of their debunking. They also claim "Spurious social media posts falsely accusing CNN of altering the racial identity of crime suspects in news photographs have become a distinct subclass of misinformation" without backing it up at all, so their bias is showing. I would rank it probably false, but not adequately debunked.
1 up, 4y
Snopes can't source or research something that doesn't exist. The burden of proof is on the claim that CNN doctored the image, not Snopes.

Ah yes, the slime pit of humanity continues to sink lower and lower. I don't even bother being surprised anymore it's so pathetic.

Yeah, this story is probably fake, but I wouldn't put it past CNN to do something like that. Not for a second.
