He was not a Democrat because he didn't support abortion, gay "marriage", birth control, fornication, etc. I see your point with taxes, but it seems like you're assuming I'm a Republican who's violently against taxes, which I'm not.

Had nothing to do with free market. Had everything to do with where the market was functioning. He didn't go around messing with small businesses that were in their proper place. It didn't matter that it happened to be a market in the temple; he would have drove out any other group that was doing business unrelated to what the temple was built for.

He was against hoarding wealth yes, but as a personal spiritual issue, not a government one. He didn't want people to hoard because it could potentially be harmful to their ability to attain salvation, not because he hated capitalism. Giving to the poor is just a good thing to do, which he encouraged. Capitalism doesn't automatically equal hoarding. Personal greed is what causes that.
