Still, you bring up a good point. How many of us hear about most current events from social media? Like the line between television and the internet, I suspect these lines will get more blurred as time goes on.
Why? Because he stripped them of the privilege of what an actual publisher gets, when they act like an editor?

They literally just put a fact check tag on his tweets, this is what he does to people who challenge him, he seeks to destroy, he's vengeful (sic). This will not do shit and court battles coming up, years. Good luck with that. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
I think it has a lot to do with the fact they do not fact check anyone else..they let Adam Schiff drone on endlessly about his overwhelming Russian collusion evidence....and they actively act as Red China's official media outlet for all their bullshit...none of it fact checked.
The issue is that 'platforms' or 'information providers' are given immunity to prosecution as accessories to crimes committed on their platforms. In exchange for this they cannot choose what they allow and they cannot change what a content creator puts on their platform.
By adding a 'fact check' to certain Tweets, they are in violation of that law because they are altering the content.
This opens them back up to accessory charges when someone finds something illegal on their platform. That's pretty much all Trumps executive order does. He tells the FCC to determine how to interpret the law so law enforcement can act on it.
Imagine a fair and balanced major news outlet that doesn;t report the record loss of American lives anywhere on their web site? Who are they protecting?
