the best part is how rare this risk is and how it's not happened throughout the past few months

No, you idiots. It happens quite frequently with those who have respiratory problems already; but they are listed under cardiac arrests or other criteria, you morons! Unless of course you live in New York and they chalk it up to COVID 19 whether you have it or not! Doh!

25 million americans have asthma.

In the past year alone, 12.8 million americans were diagnosed with COPD.

That's roughly 11.5 percent of the population in America.

Liberals are running around screaming about a disease that has 1 million infections, and saying "ITS A HUGE DISASTER". But then you are going to,minimize nearly 11x that number by saying "not the average person".

LOL....again, 11.5% of the population has respiratory problems. And you are supporting a policy that would endanger 11.5% of Americans while offering little to no protection of preventing them from getting the disease.

I doubt you know what I know. But that's not the point. Hypercapnia is real, and its particularly dangerous to those people with respiratory problems. A problem that exist in a sizeable contingency of the US Population.

Typical retard. You take it completely out of context, then spin it around to fit your own moronic narrative. You must work for CNN?

You keep showing your ignorance with every comment. Germs are not viruses, unless you're using it as a generic term. Bacterial masks won't filter viruses. Viruses such as COVID 19 measure .0125 microns. You can't see them without an electron microscope. You can see "germs" that is to say, bacteria with a normal microscope. Using a mask designed for bacteria is about as effective with a virus as trying to keep out a mosquito with a chain link fence.

An Inconvenient TRUTH
The 1924 Democratic National Convention, held at the Madison Square Garden in New York City from June 24 to July 9, 1924 was nicknamed "the klanbake." Google it for yourself.

Ku Klux Klan presence

The Ku Klux Klan had surged in popularity after World War I, due to its leadership's connections to passage of the successful Prohibition Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. This made the Klan a political power throughout many regions of the United States, and it reached the apex of its power in the mid-1920s, when it exerted deep cultural and political influence on both Republicans and Democrats. Its supporters had successfully quashed an anti-Klan resolution before it ever went to a floor vote at the 1924 Republican National Convention earlier in June, and proponents expected to exert the same influence at the Democratic convention. Instead, tension between pro- and anti-Klan delegates produced an intense and sometimes violent showdown between convention attendees from the states of Colorado and Missouri. Klan delegates opposed the nomination of New York Governor Al Smith because Smith was a Roman Catholic and an opponent of Prohibition, and most supported William Gibbs McAdoo. Non-Klan delegates, led by Sen. Oscar Underwood of Alabama, attempted to add condemnation of the organization for its violence to the Democratic Party's platform. The measure was narrowly defeated, and the anti-KKK plank was not included in the platform.

Over half of the attendees at the 1924 Democratic National Convention were card-carrying members of the KKK.

100 years ago your ass. The KKK is alive and well today, unfortunately. As of 2016, researchers estimate that there are just over 30 active Klan groups existing in the United States, with about 130 chapters. Estimates of total collective membership range from about 3,000 to between 5,000–8,000. In addition to its active membership, the Klan has an "unknown number of associates and supporters"

I hate to tell you this but the Klan is still very much a part of the democrat party.

All of the original members were southern Democrats, factions who opposed the abolition of slavery. Boy you need a history lesson don't you? Oh that's right, you're a liberal and you really hate seeing the inconvenient truth about your party. For your information it was the Republican Party who freed the slaves, but unfortunately most of you were and still are too ignorant to understand it. You've been duped by the very Klan you say you hate. The Republican Party was formed for the sole purpose of abolition of slavery. Apparently you missed that class in grade school?

No it's not, it is a particle mask, and a particle mask won't stop either bacteria or viruses, so why in the F would you wear one? Because you're a libtard, that's why.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 1 in 13 people have asthma. More than 25 million Americans have asthma. 25 million is not a rare risk, dumbass.

Mask Wearers: So do you feel like an IDIOT yet?
If someone who has a respiratory illness or someone with a heart condition hyperventilates or rebreathes their own C02 after wearing a mask for hours at a time, it can cause cardiac arrest. That's why people like me call people like you mask wearers who try to shame everybody into submission to your own moronic edicts MORONS or COVIDIOTS.

Water droplets are only the carrier. Every time you touch your face you transfer them. The average person touches their own face over 90 times a day without even realizing it. Then there's the problem of how many times a day you have to readjust your mask. The masks are not airtight. They only cover your nose and mouth. Your eyes and ears and any other orifice are in peril; plus every time you wipe your ass without washing your hands FIRST. Then every time you guys take a piss, you transfer them to your dick. Then you go home at night and have sex with your significant other and it becomes an STD if you don't wash your dick before you have sex.

To be fair, a hospital is climate controlled, so the temperature is not going to exceed 80°. They also have years of internship to become accustomed to wearing a mask. There are also various conditions that can affect a person's ability to wear a mask (such as sensory issues). So saying "X can do it, so can you" is not realistic. And staying home 24/7 is not a realistic solution either. While the medical risks are overblown by many, they should not be outright ignored.
1 up, 4y
Right, you shouldn't outright ignore the suggestions to wear a mask just because a few may not be capable of wearing them. Of course there are some exceptions to the rule but there are people who are saying the following;

1. Wearing a mask is submission

No, it's a courtesy.

2. Masks do more harm than good

No, masks do more good than harm.

3. Wearing a mask for a long period of time is not safe

No, wearing the same N95 mask day after day is potentially not safe. The same is not said of the medical masks, especially the rewashable cotton ones which while may not offer you prime protection they prevent the spread of the virus.

4. Masks don't prevent the spreading of viruses because they are tinier than the fibers of the mask

No, wearing a mask does prevent the spread of the virus because it's primary mode of transportation is on water droplets expelled by the nose and mouth which is why it's recommended you wear the mask.

No one is advocating staying at home 24/7.. but limiting how often you go out. Ideally, you would be home for 2 weeks but if you have to work, need essential supplies (and can get them), or medical attention then sure, go out.

And you shouldn't be wearing the mask 24/7 either. If you're going out in public, where there may be other people you're not usually exposed to, wear a mask if you can. You don't have to wear it when you go outside, and there is no one there, or in your car, or in your own home. That would be pretty stupid.

But if you come into contact with multiple people, many hours of the day, then you probably should be wearing a mask.
0 ups, 2y
No, because if you can’t prevent everything, it doesn’t mean you can’t do something. At least by wearing a mask I reduce the risk of getting other people infected.
