Well, that is interesting... Black, asian, whites, purples, ANYONE can be racist. May not agree with most people on this stream but that is assuredly an idiot who posted that.

You want to take a shot figuring out why more black people are arrested for drug possession, Dobtard?

I feel like if you just strained yourself a tiny bit harder, you could figure it out. Go on; I believe in you.

Because they are around more violent crime. Then they get searched. Cry me a river.

That's a painfully blinkered view.

You guys are the ones with blinkered views, that why you libs never solve issues, because you blind yourself to painful truths.

Around more crime, get more cop attention. Sounds like logic to me.

Ignoring the factors that lead to people becoming criminals and how poc are disproportionally affected by them is what makes you blinkered.

Painful truths? Would that be the "We can say what we like to whom we like and we don't care how offensive it is, don't dare tell us what to do though or we'll scream oppression!" conservative attitude?

How so? The single biggest factor in a life going towards crime and incarceration is coming from a single parent household. For any race. What excuse do you have?

Yeah, free speech really sucks, huh?

There is overwhelming evidence that black people are treated with more suspicion than white people, I'm not arguing that a black person being arrested is only being arrested because of the color of their skin.
I'm saying that there is evidence that it's likely a factor.

And studies that show cops are MORE hesitant to shoot a black perp for fears of being accused of racism. #blackprivledge

You mean besides this single incident? Provide examples of that happening over the last 6 months. You want to gaslight, provide some proof of your claim.

"A problem with punishing people that never did anything abnd (sic) rewarding others for something they never experienced based on skin color?"

What? Who's being punished? How? Rewarding others? That's a weird way to describe treating people equally.

Oh look, a typo nazi too.

I'll spell it out reaaaaaaaal slow.

When a white guy or Asian has a black or Hispanic person who is less qualified or with a lower SAT score, get into Harvard or a job BECAUSE OF THEIR SKIN COLOR that is both unfair and AN ACTUAL EXAMPLE OF INSTITUTIONALIZED RACISM. The only example.

MERITOCRACY is treating people equal. AFFIRMATIVE ACTION treats people differently DEPENDING ON MELANIN.

A little clearer, Dobbsy?

A typo Nazi? For making it clear that it was a direct quote? You sound triggered, are you ok?

Try getting out of your echo chamber of racism? I appreciate that that would be quite a feat on this site.

“Because it has nothing to do with race and has everything to do with culture.”

-Ben Shapiro

You're quoting an anti-education, white conservative as if it contributes something useful. The evidence says it has everything to do with race.
Statistics say skin color is the common denominator, not culture. How did the police know anything about the culture of Tamir Rice? He was 12.
The police got out of their car, saw a black kid and shot him, it's on film.

Your quote is the bs opinion of someone who hasn't had to spend their life at an increased risk of being shot by the police, or assumed to be a criminal or treated suspiciously or abused for no other reason than the color of their skin.

And your quote is from a liberal leaning news source as if that contributes something useful. I’ve looked up The Daily Dot. It’s opinionated.

And Ben Shapiro is Jewish. The Jewish people were sent to concentration camps in the 1940’s. Then they were sent back to their home land, they still faced oppression from Palestine, Iraq, Iran, and Syria. By your logic, because of his ancestry, he should be the exact same as a “black person” (at least the kind of black person that appears in your mind.)
1 up, 4y,

I'd usually use the term poc, I thought that might be a liberal step too far; I don't want you to have a stroke.

I haven't said anything that suggests I think every person who's part of a group that's faced discrimination should be lumped together as if there are no nuances.
3 ups, 4y
You do seem to make it look like the oppressors (who are all dead) took away the ability of the oppressed to be racist.

That's a quote, not my words, you can tell by the quote marks/inverted commas.

Hardly, the extreme behavior of people decades ago has left an imbalance (which is why the affirmative action you mentioned exists).
It's not about blame or holding people accountable for the behavior of past generations. It's about acknowledging the imbalance and addressing it when possible.

What's the problem with that?
5 ups, 4y
A problem with punishing people that never did anything abnd rewarding others for something they never experienced based on skin color?

Yes, I have a problem with institutional racism .
3 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Uh, sorry, no. This is a revisionist definition of racism. It's controversial, and recent. To deny that black folks have power and influence in our society is to deny them the truth of their existence and to
practice willful ignorance.

Everyone has some privilege, white privilege just gets all the press. Further, blaming individuals for social trends is colossally stupid. White people have no more control over the accidents of their birth than anyone else.
2 ups, 4y
Just another case of the lefties 'Soft bigotry of low expectations'.
1 up, 4y
In order to be racist, you have to possess one trait: The belief that people of one "race" are superior to people of another "race".

The worst racists I know of are "white trash". The second-worst are "trash" of other ethnical groups. None of these hold institutional power, that doesn't explain away their racist views.

White privilege exists, but so do black privilege and asian privilege. In multicultural societies found in the western world, no racial or sexual group has significantly more privilege than others. We need to stop focussing so much on oppression in the western world, because all groups there are oppressed almost equally. We need to combat oppression in nations where racial or sexual group have significantly more privilege than others. The nation I currently reside in has such problems.
