Thomas Jefferson wasn't the only person in those times that thought of the natives as savages. Compared to those who came over from England, they were savages. Many of them were murderers and rapists which has been documented clearly throughout history. Tribes murdered and raped and enslaved each other long before the white man came along.

I'm not giving pass to those who came here and did some atrocious things, but giving pass to the Indians who were already here is disingenuous. Many natives were savage and ignoring that fact is wrong.

You may be confused. Slavery, racism, and sex crimes have nothing to do with whobyoh are or where youre from. It is a HUMAN problem. Africans sold other africans. Whitey wasnt chasing them around with a net. Native americans fought and enslaved eachother for various reasons. This isnt exactly breaking news.
