For the record, just in case anyone is wondering... Democratic State Rep. Karen Whitsett contracted the virus and took the drug, hydroxychloroquine, and said her symptoms mostly vanished in under two hours. She credits President Trump to informing the public about this drug and for possibly saving her life.

Also, “Lost” actor Daniel Dae Kim believes the anti-malarial drug touted by President Trump was the “secret weapon” in his recovery from the coronavirus.

The 51-year-old actor praised hydroxychloroquine as being “critical” in the treatment that has left him now “practically back to normal” just days after confirming he had been infected.

“Yes, this is the drug that the President mentioned the other day,” Kim said in an Instagram video Saturday, noting that Dr. Anthony Fauci had cautioned that supposed success stories were “only based on personal accounts.”

“Well, add my name to those personal accounts, because I am feeling better,” Kim insisted of the drug he noted was being “used with great success” against the virus in Korea.

This is what drug trials are for, people. I'm all for jumping in on a cure as long as it's safe.

It may not have done anything. Correlation is not causation.

Yet, people getting it make good recoveries and those who don’t continue to suffer. Odd ...

The Food and Drug Administration issued an emergency use authorization on March 29 approving hydroxycholoroquine for use in treating the Wuhan China Virus, COVID-19, after numerous successful studies and test cases emerged over the past three weeks.

Nevada Chief Medical Officer, Ihsan Azzam, who recommended the ban to Governor Sisolak who banned it doesn’t even have a license to practice medicine... and yet he is dictating public health policy in Nevada?

Even the Democratic Governor of Michigan reverses her ban after seeing its success.

The drug hasn’t just been “championed” by President Trump – it has in fact been championed by doctors all over the world. We have now seen multiple successful, peer-reviewed case studies and strong anecdotal evidence in France, in South Korea, in Germany and in Orange County, New York, where Dr. Vladimir Zelenko successfully treated over 400 patients with zero deaths. Those are just the examples I’m aware of.

So, let’s review:

—We are in the middle of a global pandemic
—We are fighting a “novel” coronavirus that, up to three weeks ago, had no known cure and no vaccine
—We have multiple peer-reviewed scientific studies conducted by renowned scientists from multiple countries, as well as strong anecdotal evidence of this drug’s incredible, near-100% effectiveness in fighting this virus
—And, because President Trump has said good things about this drug during his daily press briefings, the entirety of the Democrat/media propaganda complex mounts a demented and coordinated strategy to demonize the one KNOWN cure for the virus.

Yes, it’s depraved. Yes, it is demented. Yes, it is despicable, diabolical and disreputable and disgraceful and vile.

But hey, this is Democrat politicians and the corrupt media we’re talking about here.

You expected something else?

I’m not saying it won’t or isn’t working there are simply no studies to prove it. Anecdotal evidence is just that. Hopefully it is working, doesn’t kill people in the process, and is studied closer And faster to get actual data.

There's a cardiovascular side effect also resulting in patients having to be revived after taking it. https://thehill.com/policy/international/europe/492317-french-officials-report-heart-incidents-in-experimental

I'm not seeing this anywhere, just problems with studies and rushed peer review processes. Even the article Trump referenced when he made the claim has been backpedaled by the journal that published it. A current trial had to be stopped due to the risk of heart problems.

Narrative: if Trump said it, you don't believe it.
But your blessed Federal government has issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to authorize use of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine from the Strategic National Stockpile for treatment of hospitalized adults and adolescents (weight ≥50 kg) with COVID-19 for whom a clinical trial is not available or participation is not feasible.

But you'd rather people die, right?

I don't care who said it. But we are talking about the guy who was calling this a liberal hoax not too long ago, shaking peoples' hands, and holding rallies after being warned about the pandemic. So yeah, I take everything he says with a grain of salt. The guy lies more easily than he breathes.

You haven’t been paying attention and that narrative is easily debunked.

It's because you aren't looking.

Or because you search using a term that matches your cognitive bias.
"Trump full of shit to promote hydroxyghloroguine" won't give you good results.

That link is to a study of using hydroxychloroquine for autoimmune diseases. It's not even a study of covid-19.

This one seems promising. I actually did look, btw. Like I said, I'm all for jumping on a cure and no, I'm not ok with people dying. It's so funny you're throwing that one out there when Trumpers have been going on about the numbers being fabricated and how covid-19 is like the flu.

The numbers ARE fabricated... the CDC and Birx even admitted it. You really aren’t paying attention.

“You want grandma to die.” Is a play on the Covid18 shaming going around.

Some version of this theme is endlessly parroted by the death-obsessed COVID-shamers, as if any return to normal economic activity means an automatic death sentence for those most vulnerable to the virus. Of course, the first response is that none of us want “grandma” or anyone else to die of coronavirus. Second, the vast majority of “grandmas,” unless they have certain preexisting medical conditions, will recover just fine even if they catch it. The question is, can we reasonably protect “grandma” while at the same time protecting vulnerable Americans who will be irreparably harmed by a looming Second Great Depression? The answer isn’t just “of course,” it’s also “we must.” We’re at the risk of losing far more lives in the long run than we ever would have saved with these draconian measures that tin pot governors and piss ant mayors don’t want to lift.

So just to be clear, you think we should all go back to being rats in a cage for corporations asap to save the "economy." Chances are grandma won't die (because the numbers are fabricated) and the flu kills more people right(?) But if she does get covid-19 we can pump her up with hycroxychloroquine because it's working "like gangbusters" in Europe. In the long run, whoever does die it'll be worth it because we need to keep the money wheel turning so people like Trump don't lose their 20 yachts?

You accuse Dems of wanting people to die because people are hesitant to jump on the hydroxychloroquine bandwagon yet you're being cavalier with grandma's life because money is more important "in the long run" and she probably won't die unless she's got pre-existing conditions.

Got any non-peer reviewed data to support your claim that going back to the rat race right now will save more lives than social distancing for a couple more months?

You really need help. You don't even realize it when your overlords lie to you ... even when they admit to lying to you. Let that sink in. If it can.

I pity your ignorance of how the real world works. That's the problem with liberalism. It lives in the land of "Should" rather than the world of "Is."

The problem is not that the drug might not work or has undesirable side effects (at least not the more immediate problem). The problem is that it might be helpful, and there are people who act like they have a vested interest in keeping the drug from even being studied, let alone considered being used to fight COVID-19.
