Also, no freedom of assembly, no freedom of speech if you want to say anything about a simple coronavirus considered to be wrongthink.

Yeah... I'm thinking definitely make an exception for churches. Now, if individuals or individual churches choose to stay home, that's another story.

A fringe Christian leader in South Korea is being prosecuted for his role in spreading the virus. Apparently, this one group was responsible for over half of the infections in the entire country.

Prosecution might be a little extreme... but South Korea's response to covid-19 was still impressive overall. They weren't afraid to take the necessary steps early on. Trump has since been begging South Korea for medical equipment.

As for the Constitution...

Yeah, you're not wrong. Constitutional violations are taking place left and right these days. States and cities are imposing restrictions that in normal times would be unthinkable.

The Founders didn't foresee or write about any sort of pandemic situation. But we're imposing and voluntarily following all these restrictions and guidelines anyway, because health officials tell us it's necessary.

This is a bitter pill to swallow and I made a few memes rebelling against it at first, but I've come to accept these measures are necessary.

Don't like it? Think it's all a Leftist plot to take away our freedoms?

Well: Then go whine at President Trump and all the GOP governors and mayors who are all imposing the exact same type of restrictions as you see in blue states and cities. At this point, there's a broad bipartisan consensus quarantining is necessary, painful though it is.

"But we're imposing and voluntarily following all these restrictions and guidelines anyway"
It is in no way "voluntary", there are severe legal penalties should you violate the arbitrary and I'll defined mandates.
In my city, we are allowed to take walks (how gracious of our government to extend a basic freedom), but it must be as an individual. You cannot take walks even with other members of your own household. My children are too young to take a walk by themselves. The government has trapped them in a small appartment with no outlet for physical activity.

Boredmeme. I appreciate your concerns for your children. But I think there are ways to exercise and have fun whilst being inside.

In a small appartment with no floor space, must be nice to live in your privileged little bubble

There can be something.
Also, sorry about the last comment on a different meme. It was a bit of an asshole moment.

The alien conspiracy one? That one was so far into jokesville I couldn't take offense at any of the responses. Also, it's a separate meme on a separate stream. Completely different conversation and context.
Also, I'm probably more bitchy than I should be on my political threads. As much as I love my family, being trapped in a box with them with zero solitary time is a bit much, and I can't halfheartedly complain about them with my coworkers.

No, the 'better things to do than posting s*** on the internet' one

Oh. Well, that wasn't a response to me, I just responded to it (with a rant). To be fair, under normal circumstances, you'd be right. I went from posting occasional (1-2 times a week, including comments) to posting like 5-10 times a day, because I have nothing better to do. I'm interacting with stuff I'd normally ignore because of that as well. When I would normally go "I don't want get dragged in to this arguement" I'm now like "can I piss this guy off even more" or in some cases, try to get a dialogue going.
