If you look at infection rates per-capita at the same Worldometers link I posted above, then we’re not the worst, but we’re still not doing all that great, either.

Actually, we are doing relatively well on a national basis. New York state has by far the most infections, nearly 10x the next highest State.

The vast majority of states are handling this well as you can see by the infections pee capita.

And New York figures are corrupted with any related illness which is not necessarily confirmed corona death being listed as Covid 19.

If you want to see when the US got hit look at the genome tracking and you will have a different knowledge to most people. You can define US and let the animation run.
