Alright, I'll step away from the sarcasm a moment. Full sincerity here.
A while back I was listening to a radio interview with a midwest farmer who was a Trump supporter. He said he agreed 100% with the direction the President was taking the country. But he also said he wished the man would just stop talking, because -- quote -- "Every time he opens his mouth he makes a monkey of himself."
That farmer is a man I can absolutely respect, whether I agree with his politics or not. He has the honesty and candor to acknowledge the facts that anyone can see. If I ever met him I know I could learn something from him and broaden my own political views.
So now I'm genuinely interested in whether that farmer was just an anomaly. Because to this point, Pres. Trump's vocal supporters continue behaving like a cultic following or a team of shady defense lawyers -- refusing to admit even the slightest wrong in their man. People that dishonest or out of touch with reality aren't worth listening to.
So... is it back to the petty chess game now? Or is there a chance for some more sincerity here? You already said Pres. Trump isn't perfect and there are valid criticisms of him. What are some examples?
