The big depression? I tried searching that term and it always said "do you mean Great Depression". Dont you know common term is the Great Depression.
Your 1930 figure also seems wrong at a glance.

So why is it in the 2 places i looked they said what is in the quote but you say 9000 banks. Are you actually quoting a larger period? that would make some sense.
