Add to that those who didn't vote for him but hink Kavanaugh & Co are going to overturn Roe v Wade and the tax cut (which expires for the non-rich this year unless Congress decides to extend it) will make them the richest meth head in the trailer park, and you got more votes. Then throw in a Democrat Socialist candidate to justify everyone's fears of swing too far left, and this pony race is a better bet than next week's weather forecast.

On top of that, Trump - get this - wants to turn interest rates negative - that's right, NEGATIVE! yes, PAY business to get loans! This will keep the economy cooking, thus staving the coming recession off as long as possible. He wins, it's Hiwwawee's fault, Dem wins, it's "See, they ruined it"

Carter might have been sincere. I don't know much about him but I respect his post presidential life.

I was a kid during Carter and I remember he bungled the Iran hostage deal so badly and the economy was really crappy. The best thing that happened under carter was the Miracle on Ice in 1980 the funny part is he nearly boycotted the olympics but because it was in the US the money lost was probably the biggest factor. I remember there were huge gas lines because the Middle East started putting the clamps on oil during his time. In fact we did not get the hostages back until Reagan got elected and it was almost immediately too. I mean within a week I remember. Carter was the worst until Obama.

Opec. It started in 1960 but it allowed them to gain control pretty much over all the oil at the time. That was when all the muscle cars went away and we started getting civics and aspires and tiny cars that were better on gas so in a way it backfired because we adapted to use less and then found our own. Now we have more on hand than ever before stocked away and we are exporting more than ever. But yeah OPEC was and still IS nasty. Eventually WWIII will probably come from oil not so much from us but China and Russia will definitely want it you can bet on that and it is finite.

I mean none of them had a halo over their head. Not a single President was PERFECT. Some just had more warts than others or hid them well. I admit Trump could shut up more often but I like the ECONOMY. It is ALWAYS the economy!

I agree. Even Washington had wooden teeth and was reported to be quite stinky and he was one of our best really. So it happens. They have strong points and weak points. But only a few have bowed to other countries. THAT has been rare indeed.
