I just found that the quote on the left, is fake. The NYT did not call him an, "austere religious poet"

A video of him reading poetry was posted by a NYT reporter. He captioned the post,

“Rare personal video of Gen. Suleimani reciting poetry shared by a source in #Iran. About friends departing & him being left behind,”

He got many angry tweets for posting the video. One of them below:
“Austere religious poet,” responded conservative writer and podcaster Stephen Miller.

It was Steven Miller who called him an austere religious poet.
