"Your side offers plenty of that." = Lie
"If that's what attracted me to politics,
then I'd just cast my lot in with you and be done." = Condescension.
"But tell me: what motivates you?" Answer: Exposing arrogant liars.

imgflip.com/i/3js7bi?nerp=1576697005#com3861924 is a very recent example I found of standard conservative tropes of condescension toward black voters

The amount of condescension I have encountered toward Greta Thunberg is off the charts, here is a link to only the most recent example: imgflip.com/i/3jmbc8#com3860917

For an entire list of everything I have found problematic with conservative beliefs within just 6 weeks of being on ImgFlip you may peruse my stream imgflip.com/m/Cringe_Hard

But of all the characters I've encountered on this site so far, perhaps the worst offender was a Left-winger, whom I thoroughly chewed out yesterday here: imgflip.com/i/3iw8hv#com3858877

And was inspired to meme about again here: imgflip.com/i/3jsue1

I am really not a left-winger. I have simply formed the opinion that Trump himself has now become an impediment to our democracy. And: I only formed that belief a few months ago, when the Ukraine stuff started coming out. Not the Mueller report, and not anything else that has happened over the past 3 years. Though I disagreed with Trump on many issues, I understood that he won the 2016 election and therefore got to pursue his priorities.

But now he has revealed himself to be unfit for the office, and must be removed, for the good of the country.

I would support the Republican Party if Trump were gone, your party evolved on climate change, and if more of you were just nicer people.

Should Obama have been impeached for sending the IRS after political enemies in the Tea Party?

As I sit here, I have no opinion on that as House Republicans never really forced the issue.

Gee, sounds kinda non partisan. Too bad this impeachment will set a precedent you probably won't like. And don't even look into corruption of political opponents or their family.

Well, many Republicans are already promising to impeach the next Democratic president on Day 1 (or, I guess, on the first day of that any future Republican House majority takes effect while a Democrat is president), but I can't stop their threats there I guess. If they really did that, then I think everyone with a brain would recognize that as the nakedly partisan exercise it would be.

Unless, of course, that Democratic president really deserved it! Maybe a President Oprah caught doling out too many free cars for votes?

The dems have wanted to impeach since nov 9 2016. Look at Mad Maxine's yapping. Only Pelosi knew it'd be a mistake.

The Mueller report found troubling, but not impeachment-worthy, evidence. It was not an impeachment investigation. And so impeachment didn’t happen.

I sat on the sidelines on this stuff for much longer than most of my liberal friends. But now it’s simply gotten undeniable.

Ukraine is a totally different thing. For one thing, we have evidence this scheme went straight to the top: of both the U.S. and Ukraine (as opposed to Don Jr. talking with some no-name Russian lawyer). For another, Trump was using his office as President now and not just a presidential candidate. And also: he’s obstructing this investigation like crazy.
1 up, 4y
We disagree on how serious that call was, and that's cool, but Trump hasn't obstructed this investigation. This whole investigation has been a kangaroo court. If Trump spoke there, and mixed up a date, he'd be hit with perjury. (didn't that happen during the Mueller investigation?), although Schiff can lie about the contents of the phone call with impunity. And all this with one year to go.
1 up, 4y
The thing is, just as everyone knew he'd be impeached, we all know there won't be the votes in the senate. Aaaaand, if they stretch it out, it'll keep people like Sanders off the campaign trail as they have to attend the proceedings.

Lie about the phone call?? Jesus. He was paraphrasing. The transcript says what it says, nothing Schiff can possibly say will ever change that, and it's plenty bad even with zero spin or gloss. That's why I cite it so damn heavily.

"Let me tell you Zelinsky, I'll tell ya 6 7 8 times! Blah blah blah"

You must be kidding. I'm too lazy right now to look it up but you have no problem with that. That sleaze has lied and misrepresented things since Mueller.

“Non-partisan” hahahaha

Sure: if we had our druthers in an ideal world, more Republicans would wake up and smell the evidence. That would be best for our country. But, they haven’t yet and at this rate seems that they never will.

It broke campaign finance laws

Trump would perjure himself faster than you can say “Oval Office BJ” if put under oath and questioned on almost any subject.
2 ups, 4y
Yeah, right. This has been a witchhunt since Mueller started his investigation based off foreign intel that was lies and the FBI broke laws in the fisa court to get renewal. No quid pro quo, no bribery. Just bullshit.

You don't know that. Altho it's possible.

Sure, some Dems did. They were a substantial minority. And doing so would have been a mistake, even if technical justification may have existed from Day 1 due to Trump's failure to divest his substantial assets.

Pelosi's "hand was forced" not by the Left, nor even by the Mueller report (remember how hyped that was? And yet: no impeachment resulted from it), but rather by unmistakable evidence of Trump's scheme in Ukraine, which got even the moderate Democrats on board.

Trump's pornstar payoffs alone would have resulted in his impeachment if these were the Clinton years.
1 up, 4y
No, the far lefties pushed Pelosi into it. Even she said it should be non partisan.

What law did that break?

When I think of Fast and Furious compared to this? Words fail me.
