Hey bud, what your parents do has nothing to do with your actions, suicide is NOT the answer. We all have our faults, and we all fail in life at some point, but ending your life is a sad way to try and correct what happened, and in this case it's not even you that failed. Dont project the sins of someone else, even your parents, onto yourself, it's not your fault. My grandfather committed suicide, I was about 6 or 7 at the time. It still haunts me to this day when I think about it. If you start thinking about that please think about others in your life that will be affected by that decision and imagine what they will go through afterwards. Seek help, talk to someone, your life is precious and not to be wasted. I'm sorry you're going through this, I'm sure it's terrible to see your parents struggle. I'm praying for you.

Thanks, I feel so upset right now. I feel like i'll never be happy. My parents divorced when was very young and i never had a father figure for 8 years. When my mom found my stepdad they were in love and i actually had a father figure. It felt nice. But yesterday my mom found out that my dad Did the deed with other women. My mother was so upset she started yelling at my Dad and started hitting them. The worst part is that they had a baby. Now I think were back to the phase were It was just me my mom and my siblings, and a baby to take care of.

You have every right to be upset friend...people do really dumb stuff sometimes, and they dont think about others. Sounds like you've had it rough for a while, but I will say that your story inspires me to be a better husband and father to my wife and daughter. Us dads aren't all bad and I encourage you to hang in there and be there for your mom so she has a good man in her life too. Some day when you're a dad and husband, remember how important it is to be the anchor for your family and how much grief it can cause when its forsaken. My wife's second husband cheated on her and then after they divorced, he married the woman he cheated with. Well she died this year and while none of us will mourn her, we are still friendly with him. (Did I mention the woman was my wife's brother's ex?) And when it comes to cheating, the myth that we are meant to find our soulmate and live forever together and never look at another is just that. We are still very good friends and he visits my parents, but they simply didn't love each other anymore.It happens. The important lesson here, none of it happened because of the children. Now be strong for your mother. She needs you more than ever right now.

My parents divorced when I was in my mid-20’s, as did my wife’s. We were out of our houses by that point, so it wasn’t quite as destabilizing as the situation faced by a lot of kids, but it was still shocking and made us question a lot about our lives. Like: How long had our parents been out of love, did they only stay together because of us, could we have done anything to keep them together.

Neither of our moms are perfect (of course, no one is), I think we both ended up blaming our dads more than anyone. We still see our Dads on occasion, but not as frequently as before, and in my wife’s case for sure she is still dealing with feelings of betrayal.

Neither of us knows for a fact if physical cheating was involved in either case (in her dad’s case, there was at least an emotional affair), but it wouldn’t surprise us to learn that it had.

It gets better with time. What once felt like an open bleeding wound has healed over somewhat and is now just a dull pain that surfaces much less frequently. A scar we will always carry — but no one gets through life unscathed.

What your father did was horrible. I hate it when parents divorce, because they don’t know the damage that it could cause. Just save your go***amn relationship before things go south.

I think the main reason people cheat is boredom. They want action and adrenaline. Maybe it’s because they don’t like the relationship they were in.

I don’t really know for sure, as I never cheated before.
