All the hating and stereotyping about liberals and conservatives, I’ve had enough.

Right, it’s not a specific threat and there’s probably an argument that it presents the bare minimum of a political point that it shouldn’t be censored on free speech grounds.

But this shit is not okay and I’m going to call it out in every way I can. The molten core of hatred against Democrats rarely manifests itself so virulently, but memes like this reveal what is bubbling beneath the surface all the time. These Trumpists obviously dislike Democrats, which is fine, but it seems the one thing that will truly make them say, do, or threaten anything is if they feel their dear leader’s grip on power is threatened.

Just a reminder than no one political cause or politician, left or right, is worth threatening death or civil war. I’ll probably make a meme about that later.

I remember a few times posting fbi memes to people threatening Trump with death. I can only imagine what it was like in 2017, when the salt and butthurt was still fresh.

Well honestly, despite the lack of evidence so far I wouldn’t be too surprised to learn if there are a handful of similar dumpster fire memes from a Left perspective lurking somewhere here on this website.

But what would be *very* surprising to me would be if such memes found a receptive audience here and received a ton of upvotes like this one in question has. That is the even larger point. People here actively approve of this shit from the Right.

And no, it is not too much of a stretch to conclude that someone hitting the upvote button on this meme actually approves of the message of hanging Democrats (whether before or after a notional “judicial process”).

Yeah, the mindreading thing again. Some people will upvote any pro Republican/Conservative meme, especially edgy or intelligent ones, same as the left. Only been here a month, and I’ve seen a lot of sh already but I really don’t recall seeing anything quite this bad until now. I’ll be hyper aware going forward.

I probably would have glossed over it while scrolling if it wasn’t receiving such a response, but last I checked it had garnered like 25 or 26 upvotes and I believe had reached the front page of “politics.”

When memes like this get such positive feedback, they obviously inspire the next right-wing memer to imitate and even try and outdo it.

What really galls me is when the right lets shit like this slide and then turn around and accuse *us* of poisoning the well of debate. I don’t want to shut anyone down. Worst I will ever do is call you a racist if you are being a racist. Or a fascist if you are being a fascist, as this memer was. I don’t use terms like that lightly; for me they are not insults but rather very literal descriptions.

Being called a racist or whatever happened to this guy to make him so violent does not allow you to threaten hanging.

And side-note, I know we’re not really supposed to be discussing politics here in this stream but this shit is important.
