CLAIMS TO WANT LIMITED GOVERNMENT CONTROL OVER PEOPLE WANTS THE GOVERNMENT TO ENFORCE ONLY ONE RELIGION IN SCHOOL, BAN GAY MARRIAGES, BAN AB | image tagged in college conservative, smug | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Liberals are just pitiful Sometimes, but then I come across gems like this and I just can’t resist.

Abortions kill millions of humans, and what at least I want is the freedom to teach something other than evolution in public schools.

Millions of things kill millions of humans, children included.

Teaching that one religion is right and others are wrong will never be curriculum.
reply

So I guess we shouldn't do anything about it. Disease kills millions? Meh, other things kill people too.

Did I say it would have to be curriculum?

Now come on, be fair, the /left/ wants the government to enforce only one religion in school as well, and that's Islam.

Well, two if you (rightly) count liberalism as a religion.

As for gay marriage, I don't believe it should be legally recognized as actual marriage, but not all things immoral should be illegal. I.E. It shouldn't be illegal to be a jerk to other people.
reply

Well, just call it "mating" then, and give them the same legal rights as married people. I mean, since "marriage" is just the christian name given to mating, a concept that is many thousands of years older than christianity.

Marriage started with the very first 2 humans. No, I don't believe they should have the same legal rights. For example, it should be illegal for them to adopt children. That's when it stops being a private act of immorality and becomes harmful to someone else.

So I believe. You have no proof that a homosexual couple adopting a child is detrimental to a child. And your belief of taking away the rights of a type of person based on their lifestyle is no different than what was done during the Jim Crow era.
reply

Since I don't believe gay "marriage" is real marriage, adoption shouldn't be a right to take away.
Sort of like abortion. I don't believe that should be a right people are entitled to because it ends millions of human lives.

Veeeeery different to the Jim Crow era. People then weren't persecuted/didn't lose rights because they did something wrong, but because of the color of their skin. Surprised you don't understand that.

And, once again, you’re full of crap. Black people were seen as wrong, undeserving, unintelligent, inferior, disposable, and a dangerous threat all because of their race.

Kind of like how gay people are treated as undeserving, unintelligent, inferior, disposable, and a dangerous threat all because of who they are. If you don’t see a correlation, it’s because you don’t want to see it.

You know what else kills people? Mass shootings. Don’t see bible thumpers protesting at the White House about how government hasn’t done squat to resolve the issue of all the kids that die from that but say “I’m sorry”.
reply
0 ups, 5d
Sigh. You can't control if you're born with black skin. It's not something you do. Choosing to be gay is not something you're born with. It's not who people are I criticize. It's what they do that's wrong. I don't treat gay people as inferior or unintelligent. Everyone does wrong things. That's part of being human. I do however think it's a problem that needs to be fixed.

As for mass shootings, I can't control others' actions (although your claim that owners of Bibles never want anything done about that is a ridiculous assumption.) Maybe more guards should be issued to schools.

I don't hate gay people. I don't hate anyone. It goes against the Bible's teaching, and thus my beliefs.

I believe it's harmful for a child to be raised by a gay couple. Maybe more parents should adopt.

And how is that working for the straight parents of gay kids? When they can't abuse them into being straight they're sending them to those anti-gay concentration camps? Parents might be able to oppress their childrens' will for a while but at the end of the day, we all decide for ourselves who we are and who we want to be.

A big part of why I became a Democrat was getting a job that pays me enough that I feel comfortable paying a little more in taxes. This is really not about “give me stuff.” I want to give stuff to others.

And yes I give to charity too. But charity can’t effect change or achieve results on a massive scale the way government can.

It isn’t all pocketed by bureaucrats the way right-wingers would tell it.

The government has also spend ridiculous amounts of money on such hits as: hundreds of thousands of dollars to study the reproductive habits of japanese quail on cocaine, 1.5 million on studying how fish handle treadmills, $40k to create a copy of berkshire, mass. in minecraft, 3.5 million on studying why people fear the dentist, 3.4 million to study how much more aggressive male hamsters become on steroids(pitting them against each other in a sort of hamster fight club), half a million dollars on a computer algorithm trying to predict when characters in soap operas would kiss or hug, and many more. But yeah, they spend all that money super wisely.

The US government spends more than 3X per student on education than the polish yet we lag behind them in literally every single academic field. The government spends money in absolutely wasteful ways, thinking that every problem can be solved by just throwing money at it without any regard for spending the money the right way. You can claim we should give more to the government all you want but all it does and all it has done in the past is lead to more and more waste.

Except he didn't cheat, he played specifically by the rules.

Hillary didn't exactly cheat either, but in gaming parlance, she tried to use an exploit. She tried to gain enough votes to win popular vote, when she should have known popular vote didn't matter. Perhaps she knew she couldn't win the electoral college with her rhetoric.
