The same thing happened in Seattle. Vox has a great piece that covers how it was implemented and the effects (both positive and negative).
Like if you were already working an 8 hour day, your take home $$ went up.
But if you were working a 6 hour day, your pay went up but hours went down. however, the increased wages resulted in the take home $$ being the same.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of jobs in restaurants and bars in the Seattle area has grown from 134,000 to 158,000 since 2015.
