Do you have any idea how many women here in the US are abused on a daily basis? This is a patriarchal society. We still haven't had a female president yet. Rich white women in the US were given the right to vote *after* ex-male slaves. Women don't even come close to having equality yet. Misogyny is embedded in American culture. It's everywhere you look. Pageants, cheerleaders, strip clubs, even actresses on TV, have to have so many attributes that the male actors don't. Compare that to the number of pageants for men, the number of male cheerleaders out there, male strip clubs? The pressure to be skinny, have big boobs, get facelifts, etc. is enormous for women. Just look at Cosmo or Vogue.
Sexism in the US crosses all ethnicities. What do you think #metoo is about? Not supremacy. It's about women who were raped, sexually abused, molested, groped, forced into compromising positions by guys like Weinstein - finally coming out of hiding and having a voice. There are women in other countries who have horrific experiences at the hands of men, that's true. The forced female genitalia mutilation in Africa pretty much wins the award. That and women in India who get set on fire if their family doesn't pay their husband's family more money. But that doesn't mean women in the US should be grateful that we only get the crap beat out of us when our husband gets drunk on Superbowl weekend. Try looking into how many women in the US are shot and killed by their husband or some other man. One every 16 hrs? It's bad all over for women, whether they're "mouthy" or not.
