Not to say one has to follow that "polygamism" in all its consequences,
but to answer your question, even if thought as a good joke, which it is.
It all starts in ones mind. Obviously, some don't even know they are married already. lol

Back to science: "Where does it say that?" You surely know already, not all sources of information are integer and credible, which can lead to incredible results. :8~)

Was meant as joke. You have read my comment. Of course i would like polygamy.
not only polygynie. Lesbian & Gay people also have emotions, which we should respect.
Better than warfare anyways.

What's wrong with the latter day saints?
I'm used to think they are awesome people.

You mean't the reference to the book of mormon?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polygamy_in_North_America
if i understand correctly, not anymore. i couldn't figure out why they changed that.

Interestingly it is still in the heads of a lot of humans all over the world.

To me Love doesn't knows boundaries. And i also think Love should get written (big) capitalized.

I understand you meant this as a joke, but still. You could've used anything else instead of the Book of Mormon, our other book of scripture, to be used in that joke. A man with multiple wives perhaps. Plus I was trying to joke back with you. May have come off as thinking you were trying to be rude but that's what I meant. Also, there are others that would tear your head off if you tried that with their religion. Just try to be careful next time. Like maybe show a man in a suit with multiple wives. Not a book of scripture. This post is meant to educate you. If it came off as rude, I am sorry. But please try to be careful about how you go about making jokes about religion. There are ways to have funny stereotypes. But please try to refrain from using our book in a meme. We are very protective of it.

Who knows, I could be in the wrong here.

I'm ordained priest/reverend and i support all religions. All lead to the origin. :-*
The Church of the latter day Dude. In Dude we trust.
Does that fill the gap?

I just wanna take reference to your very valid statement, i had an idea while i was in a clinic,
contemplating over a Charly Hebdo.
So many people declared their solidarity with Charly Hebdo, even if he made a very rude and disrespectful joke about only one single religion. That mistake cost him his life.
I never declared my solidarity with this person.
Why? He could've made nearly the very same joke with all other religions too.
Or simply respect the religion as it is, based on Christianity.

For my taste, best jokes about religions, were made by Alan Watts:

Interestingly there are some regions in the USA, where it is allowed to have sex with your
horse. For the sake of completeness.
They all have dirt at their shoes.

There's no need to invent strange odd-number marriages to explain this. Standard crappy human behavior works just fine. If somebody gets married, divorced, and remarried to a different person within a year, two marriages have occurred involving three people.

Nobody's "inventing" strange odd-number marriages, though. And hell, mormon polygamy is more likely to occur than someone getting married, divorced, and married again inside of a year.

Assuming OP's number is an official statistic from somewhere, polygamy can't be reported as a marriage stat since extra wives are not legal marriages. Same with "solo marriages" and marriages to other non-human objects. And if you think that people getting married, divorced, and remarried within a year is unlikely, I invite you to Google "Celebrity Marriages".
0 ups, 5y
Yep, I'll give you that, it depends on where the stat comes from, whether it's a government one or an informal one.

As for people getting married, divorced, and remarried within a year, I didn't say it was unlikely, I implicitly said it was /less/ likely.

A lot of people mentioning polygamy, nobody mentioning sologamy, the act of marrying oneself, which a lot of women are doing lately. Hell, there's a story about one woman who married herself, /cheated/ on herself, and blamed men for it...

And that's not even getting in to people marrying their pets, or those who marry inanimate objects, like their favorite body pillow with a hot anime chick on it.
