Taxation is an issue in ALL governments, genius.

If we got rid of income tax and just put in a very high sales and luxury tax not only would the money be worth more because by buying more stuff you're improving the worth of the US dollar, but these two also the only moral forms of taxation because it's consensual. The money would allow most things to go private and allow more people to afford private services because they aren't being robbed of half their income while the government would be able to fund things that should be government provided like police and the such because free trade that would give the government more cash would be encouraged by this free movement of the private sector.

Agree. It's been over a decade since I've seen 'America: Freedom to Fascism', but from what I recall, Aaron Russo (suicided) addresses the IRS federal income tax laws, or lack of it. The only law that exists is state tax which states that 'if you file federal tax, you must file state'. But there is no actual law and IRS/courts refuse to point to it in its code. From what they discuss is income cannot be taxed because it is a trade of service. The only tax law they point out is for corporate tax.

No 100% idea if it's true or not, but when I was in high school (in Canada, so I have no dog in the race), we were taught that American income tax is technically illegal. It was introduced as a temporary measure during wartime.

It was supposed to end after WW1 (I think), but they liked the money too much and kept it going, even though it has not, to this date, ever been fully ratified in congress.
