Alexander Hamilton, in The Federalist No. 65, warned that "during impeachment proceedings, it would be difficult for Congress to act solely in the interests of the nation and resist political pressure to remove a popular official." That is why (Article I, Section 2, Clause 5) of the Consitution requires a majority vote of the House to begin impeachment proceedings.
Hamilton went on to say that "no single person, no matter how high in political ranking, should be the sole arbiter for impeachment."
There has been no vote by the house and this whole thing is the sole action of Pelosi, Nadler, and Schiff. This is exactly what Hamilton warned about, political revenge, and is in direct violation of the Consitution.
