JoeRoger makes some good points. And also things "seem" this way because of how the mainstream media picks and chooses which events to show you (if not outright fake) and how they are spinned.
For instance, people are shot and otherwise murdered in droves on a weekly basis in places like Chicago and Detroit, despite having extremely strict gun laws. You never hear about it on the news, though. It's always schools, churches and the like to drive up extra hysteria.
Then they point to guns as the problem, not repeated failure of the state to stop shootings even though they already had laws enough to stop it. Take Nicholas Cruz, for instance. The warning signs were everywhere, the police were being called to his home on a weekly basis. Neighbors reported his CRIMES, and threatening comments he made on social media were reported, but never followed up on.
On every level, the state failed to do its job: to protect its citizens and ensure the mentally ill get help. Nicholas Cruz should have been monitored closely or institutionalized. Failing that, arrested for crimes he committed. Failing that, the FBI should have come to investigate the threats he made. Even the deputy on site at the school failed to do anything while people were being killed.
Wake up. Guns aren't the problem. Relying on government is.
