Social media has become the perfect tool to facilitate propaganda. Opinions however outlandish they might be will be eaten given you find the right echo chamber to target.

Yes. Just as free speech doesn't not cover inciting violence or panic, censorship can and should be used in the same cases.

I agree, there are times when censorship is necessary. Kids use this site making it necessary for explicit content to be appropriately managed. Anything that incites violence or hatred should of course be censored. Words and images can yield dangerous consequences to individuals who take them at face value. Of course censorship is also abused to silence those with conflicting opinions.

Additionally private forums can censor as it is private. Only governments must defend censorship when it is used.

What one finds inappropriate is subjective. So I suppose it would be difficult to enforce an effective universal standard of censorship. I think the only kind of censorship people find a common ground on is what content is appropriate for children. 🤔
