In a pinch you can charge an electric car with a generator, a bit slower but you're in a pinch, gas pumps don't pump without power.

You would need one hell of a generator to charge such a large battery in less than a few days and then what are you running that generator with? Cow Farts? The only pinch that will be happening is you taking a crap.

My research comes from my actually looking into buying one. I'm leaning towards a Tesla. There's lots of electric cars where I live, and we have some if the highest gas prices in Canada, so a cheaper daily form of travel interests me. So yes, in a pinch, you can charge a car using a regular mid size generater, and if youre heading towards a natural disaster, you're prolly gonna be prepared with gerry cans and genset anyways, after last christmas' blackout here on the Island, they're both at the ready for me.

That is all gonna depend on my budget, but a type S seems sporty and roomy enough, I've been following the progress on trucks too, Rivien, ford etc, but those are gonna be super pricey out of the gate, that may have to wait.

The SUV, upright sort of vehicle is where all the main players are going to hit hard as that's where the main markets have moved in conventional vehicles. You can easily charge a car with a generator and it's not going to take days. A home could be set up to gain electricity from the car as a generator with a hybrid vehicle as well. At least a short term application. People were stupid to wait so long to fill up. We need more applications like this and electricity storage available in multiple applications.
