I was one of those workers when I was a teen, it sucks after 8 hrs in the hot sun, or in the pouring rain, or in 8 inches of snow, and the weather isnt the only thing; people dont pay attention in parking lots, while I was able to move out of the way before I would get hit the carts would get hit on a regular basis. Then to top it all off I made minimum wage. This is not to say there arent some people (like Walmart employees) who get a machine to push the carts but thats Walmart.

I used to deal with the same things at Home Depot.
Except, I live in SoCal, so no snow. And I made a pretty good rate compared to minimum wage

That was what people were saying to justify. Not like that, but more like "I can't support a family on minimum wage"
NO SHIT. Minumum wage jobs are meant for school kids and people who just want some extra money

I agree, minimum wage shouldn't be an aspiration. I used to work for minimum wage as a teenager after school. If minimum wage was $11/hr, my position would have been eliminated and I wouldn't have had a job. Which is what will happen if minimum wage is increased; more self checkout lanes at Walmart

Now, in an industry where tipping is considered mandatory like restaraunts, I think it would be better to just pay them more. I'd rather pay 15% more for my meal than being responsible for making up what employers aren't paying

Personally, I think it's safer, more convenient, and more courteous to bring it back. Plus, have you ever had a time where you think you found a spot just to realize that some douche nozzle left a cart in the space

As someone who works as a grocery store, yes it annoys me, but that is just fine with me. I have 2 main issues though.
1. We have 2 different types of carts, and you would think type 1 goes on 1 side and type 2 goes on the other. Some people get it, but like 20% do, the other 80% mixes it.
2. Theres a few prople who love to leave carts on a curb, which is WAY harder than walking 5 steps, and even worse, people love to leave carts oustide the parking lot by at least 50 feet, like really, why.
Sorry bout my rant

I totally get it...I used to be a lot attendant at Home Depot and people do the same shit there. I seriously don't understand the up on the curb thing. It takes extra effort to be that lazy

Especially when you take into account getting in the car, buckling up, sitting at lights or whatever, traffic, and finding parking
