Have you ever been to Mexico? It is an industrialized nation - only difference is that a much higher percentage of it is rural. Also they have a lot more socialism and complete gun control. So they look act like a 3rd world shit-hole. But demographically they are much closer to US than any Nordic country. Industrialization doesn't create a similar population or economic environment - China is a great example.
