I think he's a deep state asset used to blackmail high level politicians, media figures and hollywood scum. His trial will probably be a farce. The FBI still seems to be compromised. Hopefully I'm wrong and he and the fish he hooked will get serious prison time, but it's likely he'll be murdered if things get too hot for the 'elites' in power with things to lose.
