Humanity is screwed if civilisation doesn't provide healthcare to its people. The US spends the most on healthcare of any country in the world but doesn't have universal healthcare. However America does have most of the biggest and most profitable health insurance companies in the world. What would you choose? Healthcare for your fellow human or rich executives at corporations.

If healthcare is a right, the patient's right forces other healthcare workers to serve them, regardless of pay. If it is a right, then it is guaranteed by law, not a service that you pay for directly or indirectly via taxes.

While I'm against universal heathcare, you should look up what these people earn and why healthcare - the fastest growing sector of the economy - is booming dollar wise. They're hardly volunteers.
That IS, after all, THE reason the argument for it is an unsound one.

And yet, a healthcare worker can quit their job AND draw a steady paycheck for all their work in the healthcare field, neither of which are particularly compatible with your assertion that they are in any way indentured into their profession!

All we ask in return is that they, like, do their job. Which, I don't know if you've gathered, is the same deal that you get in ANY line of work.

So construction workers are already slaves because everyone has free access to the roads they build. And soldiers are slaves because the work they do is paid by the government for the benefit of all.
